All is not well for Facebook, according to a study from Market Intelligence Central that has been picked up by CNBC. Andy Meek of BGR.com teases out the meaning:
Facebook's traffic hasn't just fallen by about half since 2016, according to the study. Among the consequences of such a precipitous drop is the opening it's given to YouTube, which the study's data shows is about to overtake Facebook to become the second biggest site, traffic-wise, in the U.S. Which would give Google ownership of the top two spots, pushing Facebook down to number three.
CNBC describes the drop at Facebook as "severe" and goes on to round out its list this way: "The five websites receiving the most traffic in the U.S. in the last several years have been Google, Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo and Amazon, in that order. However, Facebook has seen a severe decline in monthly page visits, from 8.5 billion to 4.7 billion in the last two years, according to the study. Although Facebook's app traffic has grown, it is not enough to make up for that loss, the study said."

843, maybe. I think it has more to do with the under 25 crowd gravitating to new social media to separate themselves from their parents who had all joined Facebook.
ReplyDeleteAll have left wingers stirring the pot but let me rate the 5.
ReplyDeleteAmazon- great selection and service
Yahoo- BS articles and editors, way past its prime
Google- outstanding, though be cautious , supported largely by pron searches
Youtube- my choice, news, entertainment, instructional, it is what you make it
Facebook- what's the point, what do they contribute besides an outlet for the self-worshipped

All these places start out " Cool " then the early adopters and content creators abandon them when every moron is on board and it's over run with ads.
ReplyDeleteWish I had used it so I could boycott them now. I never got in their trap or crap, putting my mess on the street.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me. All you peeps who are resending the message to tag and repost on FB home page so you can see more posts from friends are being scammed. Just another FB ploy to increase traffic.
ReplyDeleteYoutube has always been a joke. The early posters used an auto refresh plug in to artificially inflate their views up to the home page. Chad and Steve created a Partners program and began paying them. Google bought it and now it's stupider than TV. Using social media at all just inflates their market share so they can sell to advertisers. They don't care about you, your family or friends, political opinions or beliefs or baby and cat pictures. Your working for FREE for them generating content and connecting more people into their web. I have to admit is really is the cleverest scam to come along. Convince everyone it's fun and social and have them do all the work for ya. Like Tom Sawyer white washing the fence.
