While this image was posted on Facebook, don't let the image OR WBOC fool you. Ocean City was DEAD yesterday. Take it from someone who has lived in Ocean City, (on and off) for the past 20+ years, there was absolutely no traffic whatsoever heading in to Ocean City.
In years past there'd be a line backing all the way up to WalMart in Berlin. Heck, there wasn't even a back up to Rt. 611. Talking to friends who went into OC, they were excited there were no lines, including Thrashers. The Boardwalk was also clear and I went to Dumser's Ice Cream on Rt. 50 around 8:00 PM and it was as clear as it normally is, (outside a holiday). No backup whatsoever.
WBOC made it sound like Ocean City was packed, that's a flat out LIE. More Fake News from your local MSM. While others cover the news, SBYNews UNCOVERS it, with the truth.
By the way, do the rest of you feel like you're now living on the Mexican border any more? I've always recognized the Eastern Shore accent but this Hispanic accent being shoved down our throats is getting ridiculous. Oh, I must be a racist now, right Libs?
Your not a racist but a man who speaks the truth. Salisbury is Little Mexico and Little Haiti. I guess they take advantage of the low income housing and free hand outs. Trying to sell my house and leave Maryland.
ReplyDeleteI was in OC yesterday for the beach...no traffic on 50 or 90 there or back and Coastal Highway was not busy either...the beach was not elbow to elbow as the picture showed there was plenty of room and not at all packed. Went to west OC for dinner and walked right in and sat down no wait at all. Not a busy day in OC or West OC
ReplyDeleteNot sure if what you're saying is legit. The picture shows an obvious crowded beach. If it was so "dead" elsewhere, then these people would have spread out a bit. Can you please stop hating on the Eastern Shore so much? It really is ridiculous seeing so much negativity.
ReplyDeleteGo back in mommy's bsmnt Snowflake.
DeleteThank Dems also can't even have a glass of wine without having a Trooper $ grabber locking you up.
ReplyDeleteJoe, Northside Park was the most crowded I've seen in years. And the fireworks the best I've ever seen. The music could have been more 'patriotic' but the pyrotechnics were amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe crowds in OC were big but not as big as they are when the 4th falls on a Friday or Monday. Traffic was heavy but no where near capacity.
I had to run over to Berlin from Fenwick and then back to mid-town and did not see too much except on Rt 54. 90 was fine.
Rickie must be fuming in City Hall, HAHAHAHA. The dreaded July 4th on a Wed holiday is always awful, yet OC has years and years to plan for this. Yet the papers and lame stream media will say what a "SUCcessful" holiday it was, then in the off season - how bad the season ended up actually being.
ReplyDeleteLather/rinse/repeat as long as the Thunder Island Brew Crew is in City Hall!!!
About our latino friends, well Joe any Sat or Sunday in the inlet parking lot the last 5-7 years cooking with hot-plates or all the hammocks hanging under the pier will answer you visually all you really need to know!!!
Lots of challenges with our truly 5 month a year town - yet never a true solution except BUILD BUILD BUILD!
OMG!!! Thank goodness someone else agrees with me!!! What is going on! This has been the worst summer for Ocean City - I have never seen this - there is nobody there - Ocean City has officially screwed themselves!! With the lack of crowd control - the parking fees EVERYWHERE - the homeless - the college crowds - the rude staff at most restaurants! I know I'm done!!!!
ReplyDeleteO.C. has a rep of a gansta town
DeletePeople do not care for that crap
10:58 all our latino friends are now down at Asseateague!!!
ReplyDeleteAtlantic City was packed all week. I thought last year's 4th was crowded but yesterday and last night it was really packed. The small businesses are booming in AC. The food stands lines are 10 deep and you take a walk and can hear the cash registers and see everyone carrying bags down the boardwalk. We have to push people out of our fortune telling office at 4am because we open at 9 and need to sleep. Last year we had 3 readers come in to help and this year too but we could use at least that many more to keep up and not have clients waiting too long.
ReplyDeleteWe live in the Pines and had no trouble going to the boards on the 3rd or the 4th. I told my kids I wasn't waiting in traffic so we would have to head home if it was backed up but we drove right in both afternoons/evenings. Now, heading into west OC in the morning for Starbucks was a different story, traffic was horrible and backed up on 5o. Maybe everyone got where they wanted to be in the morning so the afternoon/evening was clear for easier travel, but I was definitely surprised that the crowds were thin as they were. I will say they have created a real mess with these new parking kiosks, the lines and the prices are both ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteYou pay triple taxes in the pines and then 10 dollar coffees at Starbucks. Congrats on being rich. Me not so much. Can I have your coffee money ?
DeleteLol, you don’t have to be rich to live in Ocean Pines. You can buy a nice house for under $180,000
DeleteA latino Male drowned on assateague yesterday.we watched as they recovered his body.welcome to the USA! Capture a Maryland memory. Lol
ReplyDeleteThat's cruel.
ReplyDeleteParking fees have gotten way out of hand. Not a fun place to go anymore. If I want to enjoy the beach, I go to the state parks or drive to the Outer Banks of NC or South Carolina. Just a days drive away. Lodging is cheaper and beaches are nicer. Ocean Temperature is also warmer.
ReplyDelete5:41 Do u think maybe its your attitude towards other people hindering your abilities to make money? Maybe? Commenter wasnt bragging just telling a story. Congrats go to the admins that let your comment get posted in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThe media has been showing that picture for years. It was true about 8 years ago. It was so dead last year we were the only people on the bus around 100 am. The bus driver said she has been driving the bus for 15 years and never seen it so dead.
ReplyDeleteYou can buy a nice house for under $180,000
ReplyDeleteJuly 5, 2018 at 9:45 PM:
Can't disagree with you, but that will be a nice tiny little rancher, on a nice tiny (really tiny!) little wooded lot, with exorbitant association fees every year, on top of your taxes. Buy anywhere else inland, and you will get a twice as big house, on a twice as big lot, with no association fees, for the same $180,000. Ocean Pines IS for the rich, and wanna-be's.
Speaking of Ocean City, did you see how much more the rookies at the Ocean City town council is costing the tax payers? Story by the DUI Reporter himself Shawn Soper.
