Vehicle overturned in river under Route 108 overpass with two people deceased

Howard County police and fire personnel are on the scene of a vehicle overturned in the Little Patuxent River off of Route 108 in Ellicott City. There are two unidentified people inside deceased. 

Preliminarily, it appears to investigators that the vehicle went off an overpass on Route 108 westbound near Columbia Road and landed in the water. It is unknown when the incident happened or why the vehicle left the roadway. 

A pedestrian walking in the area around 12:50 p.m. noticed the vehicle, which was mostly submerged, and contacted police. Emergency crews are working to remove the vehicle from the water. 

Route 108 westbound will be closed between Columbia Road and Woodland Road for an undetermined amount of time.
