This driver was going too slow in the left lane. So this officer pulled her over

An Indiana State Police officer is going viral on social media after posting that he had pulled over a woman for going too slow in the left lane.

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles tweeted that the driver had approximately 20 cars slowed behind her because she would not move back to the right lane.

"Again...if there are vehicles behind you, you must move to the right lane to allow them to pass," Wheeles tweeted.

  1. Finally!!! Thank you officer for doing the right thing and reminding the 'left lane obstructionists' that they are either ignorant or apathetic - " I don't know and I don't care ".

  3. Once I was driving on rt50 heading east going about 65 or 70 passing traffic, a state trooper pulled behind me riding real close with no lights or siren,it was obvious he needed to get by. I had to speed up to about 85 to let him by but that was OK he just flew by and was gone.

  6. There are some commenters on here that need to read this 3 or 4 times so they can get it through their thick skulls that riding in the left lane with cars lined up behind you is wrong and also dangerous. Don't use the excuse that you are driving the speed limit, you are still being a dangerous jerk.

Ever notice that the sanctimonious law abiding citizens are the same ones that will drive 30 or 35 in a residential area posted at 25, which is much more dangerous then driving 10 mph over the limit on the highway.

  7. I have seen this in New Jersey, as well as, Carolina's! We are just way behind around here and Delaware has just too many Left Turns.

  8. 1:33 So it is ok to speed 10+ over the limit and possibly cause an accident but no ok to drink and drive? Both are illegal and likely to cause an accident. The crashes at crossovers on 50 are due to vehicles traveling too fast to be seen by crossing vehicles before they are on top of them.

  11. 1:33 YOU ARE THE REASON THE LAW WAS PASSED, moron.
Just think of the irony, one day you need to get to the hospital and some jerk like you is clogging traffic. May karma take a chunk out of your ass!

so, another idiot who doesn't read the accompanying articles. And on top of that, you're gonna tell a SP Sgt. it was a bad stop?! lmao

I just gotta believe you are one of these left lane morons who think you are entitled to impede the flow of traffic just because. Well, dearie, you are wrong. Plus your actions and other like-minded idiots are also wrong and CAUSE accidents. ( as explained by this Sgt., IF you would bother to read something)

OH, and let's not forget the road rage you guys inspire as well. When you guys are rear-ended and rollover a few times, I will not feel bad for you since you bring it on yourselves.

  13. 5:29 Cars are less likely to be in accidents when traffic is moving freely than when it's bunched up.

  14. 5:29 hit it spot on. That is the explanation the officer provided in the Fox News interview. It's not about encouraging drivers to speed- it's about safety. DRIVE RIGHT. PASS LEFT. I'm going to get a bumper sticker.

  15. 708, if its life/death and I'm heading to the hospital, Mr/Ms Slowie in the left lane gets bumped, then dumped.

Its all about ME in that case, regardless of Karma!! I'll deal with the consequences later smart@ss!

  16. So the cops will get the slow jerks, and the speeding jerks will be easier to catch, as they will be going faster without anyone blocking their hellbent quest to get somewhere before anyone else. Win, win for cops in THEIR quest to hand out the maximum numbers of citations.

If you actually have a CCW permit (which you don't), you would know you can't use the weapons to shoot someone over your road rage. It is for DEFENSE, not aggression. You are quite the moron if you, the anonymous commenter, expect readers to believe that you have a CCW permit. You are the one that doesn't get a permit. Worthless blather...and threat.

  20. I do as a business owner and if a person uses their vehicle as a weapon and threatens me with bodily harm/loss of life, it is defensive.

  21. The only way he could have stopped her was if she was driving UNDER the speed limit. If she was doing the speed limit, it will not stand in court. I would fight the hell out of this. Take that, left lane speeders. If you have a right to drive in the left lane ABOVE the SPEED LIMIT,( which you do not) then I have a right to drive in that lane at the speed limit. The law says the speed limit is the SAME in BOTH lanes. Suckersssssss.

  22. People driving the speed limit do not clog traffic. It is you idiots who BREAK THE LAW that cause it. If you come up behind me, it is because you are driving faster than I am. Pass me, you damn fool. You people speeding, clog the left, so why not those of us who obey the law? There is NO law that says it is ok for you to exceed the speed limit in the left lane. The speed limit signs are on both sides of the road. Argue it with me in court and you WILL lose. The law will be on my side. Obey the speed limit and there will be NO back ups. Numb nuts.
