On Sunday night, Father's Day, former first lady Laura Bush expressed how disheartened she is over the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy on undocumented immigrants, specifically with respect to children being separated from their parents.
In her op-ed, appearing on the Washington Post, Bush wrote, "I live in a border state. I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart."
She continued, "Our government should not be in the business of warehousing children in converted box stores or making plans to place them in tent cities in the desert outside of El Paso. These images are eerily reminiscent of the Japanese American internment camps of World War II, now considered to have been one of the most shameful episodes in U.S. history."

I had a lot of respect for Laura Bush but now my opinion has changed. Sadly.
ReplyDeleteDitto 10:19.
ReplyDeleteThat goes for the whole clan, kept their mouth shut during out last eight years of being held hostage by our own White House. Now we have a good tenant, the Bush family craws from under their rock to stick in their two cents.
I too have lost a lot of respect for Laura Bush and so has many Americans.
ReplyDeleteEither she is batshit crazy or low informed.
Either way she is probably still Butt Hurt that Little Jebby lost his election to Trump and Trump told Little Jebby the way it was.
Mine has too and President Trump needs to keep on keeping on. The Bushs are appalled at this because I'm sure they employ quite a few of those who cross the border to do their housekeeping and gardening.
ReplyDelete5:50 good point! Plain and simple - they want the ruling class establishment in place. So sad, that many democrats cannot see how badly they are being controlled by both sides of the isle.
ReplyDeleteWell, it looks like ALL the Bush's are back to drinking...AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteKennedy got us into the Viet Nam war and Bush opened up Pandora's box in Iraq. Over 100,000 men and women died and countless wounded and maimed because of their lies and false narratives.
ReplyDeleteLaura Bush needs to look inward before she starts throwing stones.
