Hello, " " residence. Who's calling, please. Anyone else have to say that when they answered as a kid?
I still have a wall phone.
Me. A good practice and sounds a lot better than, “Hullo.”
Or you'd pick up the receiver to make a call and the line was already in use by other members of the party line, which could go on for hours.
And that phone was rented from the phone company for a monthly fee. Not only that, but the phone in the picture cost extra every month because it was in an optional color. Basic rental phones only came in black.
We had 2 of the "princess" models. Just sayin.
Call a certain demographic and you will get this when they answer, "Yo, what's up man" or "Who be callin".
11:37 yes and they "Axed" you a question, or need a "Am-bo-lance", or need the "Pole-leace".
11:37 and 1:31 you must mean these are from UMES grads.
