Cardin: U.S. and allies need to create war crimes tribunal to hold Syria accountable

Sen. Ben Cardin said Monday the U.S. needs to work with international allies to hold Syrian President Bashar Assad accountable for his actions.

“It’s in the interest of the civilized world to make it clear that chemical weapons cannot be used,” Mr. Cardin, Maryland Democrat, said on CNN.

He said that his legislation, passed with Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, last year would establish a war crimes tribunal at the United Nations in regards to Mr. Assad. The Syrian War Crimes Accountability Act passed out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee after the sarin gas attack.

  1. This is a set up. Assad knows the whole world is watching. What would he gain by gassing his own people. This is the work of ISIS and they got the gas from their founder and boss Barack Obama.

  2. Sounds good.
Present EVIDENCE of the crimes and include the crimes being committed by US and Israel forces abroad.

  3. Another big waste of time. FBI will investigate and go on TV and tell the world all about the investigation. Tell about all of the illegal stuff they found, the criminal activity they uncovered, and recommend no charges be brought.

    Sound framilour?
