SALISBURY, Md: Maryland Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is pleased to announce that the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has been selected as a finalist for the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.
The Freedom Award was created in 1996 to publicly recognize employers who provide exceptional support to their Guard and Reserve employees. It is the highest in a series of employer recognition awards given by the Department of Defense to recognize employers who provide the most outstanding support for their Guard and Reserve employees. The award is presented annually by the Secretary of Defense. To date only 250 employers have received this award.
Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was selected as one of 30 finalists from the 2,350 nominations received from the 50 states, Guam-CNMI, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia. The finalists represent large employers, small employers, and public sector organizations. Fifteen 2018 Secretary of Defense Freedom Award recipients will be selected from the 30 finalists. Recipients are expected to be announced by mid-June.
Congratulation! Finally a pleasant posting of our County. Of course most comments will probably be the same old ignorant remarks slamming our LEO.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Pray you are number one...
ReplyDeleteSorry where you live 920am...it is what it is, full of corruption and scumbags!
ReplyDeleteHope it is a thick award so little Limelight Lewis can use it to stand on at the podium.
ReplyDeleteIf he wins, Lewis will ask the Council again to raise his pay and build him that new office for 29 Million dollars.
ReplyDeleteWonder who wrote them up for the award. Someone needs to fact check it. The Veterans are awesome Mikey not so much.
ReplyDeleteOne little worm supporting another little worm.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS to OUR Sheriff and his men/women!
ReplyDeleteWhat have they done to deserve this award more than any other employer?
