Governor Larry Hogan Statement On Chesapeake Bay Funding
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today issued the following statement on the U.S. House of Representatives' passage of the omnibus government funding bill that includes Chesapeake Bay funding:
"As governor of Maryland and Chairman of the Chesapeake Executive Council, I would like to thank the House of Representatives for responding to my, the Council's, and many other Marylanders' repeated calls to restore $73 million in critical Chesapeake Bay Program funding. The Chesapeake Bay is our state's greatest natural asset, which is why over the last four years we've invested $4 billion in restoration efforts, a level of commitment that will continue as long as I'm governor. I call upon the Senate to immediately follow the lead of their colleagues in the House, and help us preserve this national treasure."
