To Prevent Suicides and School Shootings, More States Embrace Anonymous Tip Lines

Tip lines are one of the few policy responses to mass shootings that Republicans and Democrats can agree on, but some schools may not have the capacity to respond to a high volume of tips.

    Could be helpful, but I cannot believe they actually printed that this idea may have hleped stop the recent one in Florida. The authorities had more than enough to stop that one!

    So if you want to rob someone call the cops and say they are suicidal. Then you can break into their house without fear of being shot.

    It won't do any good if law enforcement and school officials refuse to investigate, prosecute, and remove these perpetrators from the schools just to keep the "crime rate" down.

    Just look what happened in Florida.

    Yeah, that worked real well with the Parkland shooting. Now all we have to do is get the Police and FBI to act on the tips.

    I see a lot of people critizing the tip line idea but something has to be done. The mobile app sounds like a good idea because all the kids have phones and know how to use them. As far that big screw up in Fla. goes nobody wants to be accussed of that again,believe me people will be paying attention and acting. Another thing is students should be encouraged to tell their parents of their suspicions and you can be sure the parents won't just ignor it.They WILL get action.

    That might be a valid point IF this type of thing has never happened before. Sad to say, this is not the first time the F.B.I. or local police have dropped the ball.

    lets take Florida they made up and passed alot of gun regulations when in fact they had all the tips in the world and they DIDN'T use them. its easier to make up some stupid laws that mean nothing to the ones doing the crimes
