    1. Yeah right. Private school is just as bad as public school. I don’t even want to hear it. Choose what you want to believe but all schools are the same.

You’re being drained of your money for a “better education.” Yet, the “better education” seems to be on partying, drugs, and alcohol. Lol. Good try though.

  3. What's wrong? Are they upset because they can't get their opiates from their drug dealing ex-teacher, or did SnapChat go down?

  4. Joe that was a political protest that should not have been allowed to happen . My son told me that the school gave them permission to do this which is against school policy

  6. George Soros is funding many of these walk outs...WAKE UP ALL; as this is another way to get the clueless on board for Taking Away our Freedoms; for dismantling the 2nd Amendment. Speak Out while you still have a voice. get it!!!

  7. The school board knew this was gonna happen and did nothing to prevent it. Those kids at all schools that participated were sitting outside like sitting ducks. Some whacko knew this was gonna happen and could have shot every single one of them as they were standing outside in Plain view. Dr. Hanlin put our children in harms way and needs to resign over this!!

  9. This was a political stunt allowed by a liberal school system and our children were used unknowingly as political pawns. Someone needs to answer for this. Be glad our children were shot by some crazy madman.

  16. Any excuse to cut class, and they're going to take it. Most of them don't even know WHY they are walking out, just that they can.

  20. Proves just how incredibly ignorant you are. This has nothing to do with their "right to freedom of expression or free speech". Most on here unlike you are well informed and intelligent and know this so would not have "whined" about anything. As a matter of fact Einstein the students could very well be punished for interrupting the school day but since most schools are allowing this they won't be. So STOP with the freedom of speech/expression lie! You are doing nothing more then contributing to the dumbing down of the US student 99.9percent of whom can not compete with their global counterparts as it is because of low information/half witted people like yourself!

  21. Wow, So nice to see the kids run the schools now. Walk out whenever you want. To correct this, how about having the buses run about an hour later to make up the lost school time. If the students really feel this strongly about their protest, have them do it on their own time and place, not at school! Just bet nobody has the wherewithal to enforce that though. So sit back and eat your pudding, 'cause there are no teeth in this society anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  22. For those who thing this is a waste of time just remember many of these students are 18 and will vote in the mid-term and 2030 elections. Times are changing and the same Protesters want an all out ban on the possession of all firearms.

  23. 1140, you are exactly right!

I tell my children often, " I hear what you are saying, but in the end you are still children (>18yrs) and until you are old enough to vote, it really doesn't matter what you say/do".

I also reminded them that our expectations are much higher than those at school, and they best remain in that building until dismissal. It is not the job of the schools and the almighty boe to turn my children into political pawns. Shame on the parents who encourage their 'children' to behave like this.

    1. Thank You! Especially on the ones who think guns kill people. Use your common sense people. In every way that a person can be killed by a weapon, a HUMAN BEING was behind it. A mass shooting is not an everyday occurance. 17 PEOPLE SHOT AND KILLED THAT DAY. Every SHOOTER in these situations WAS A DEMONCRAP. Not an NRA member. Not a gun enthusiast. Not a hunter. People are being shot and killed in our DEMONCRAP RUN CITIES EVERYDAY!!!Where is the EFFING OUTCRY?? The people who are doing all of the killings in those cities are demoncraps and alot of them are MENTALLY ILL. Every single time. They are killing way, way more than 17 people a day, Murder is illegal. Rape is illegal. Drunk Driving is illegal. People are still getting murdered, raped and they still drive drunk. You can put all kinds of laws on the books till the cows come home. If someone wants to kill someone, they are going to do it. You can buy stolen guns ANYWHERE. What kind of guns do you think that the people in these big cities doing all of the killing are Using? Legal, registered ones? No. STOLEN guns. Just like heroine heads will always get their heroine and some DIE of an overdose. A crack head will always get their crack. Think about your own damed selves and tell me that YOU follow all of the LAWS.

  26. As I understand it, there are some schools nationally that REQUIRED kids to participate in the walk-out (and the kids have reported as such). I hope that's looked in to with serious focus. Honoring rights and denying rights are not mutually exclusive.

  33. They all walked out today because they wanted to get out of school. If they had this on a Saturday at 10Am you probably wouldn't get 20 kids

  34. I am so glad my kids are no longer in this school. When they were there, it was more of a prison than a school. There were fights there just about every day.

If I have grandchildren and they are living here, I will help to pay for a private school for them. It's that bad! I did this for them during their elementary school years and would have kept doing this if I could have afforded it.

Until they do something about the problems and educational system, I would not wish public school on any child that truly wants to learn.

  36. I wish that back when I was in high school that my principal would've allowed students to simply take a stroll and leave school whenever it suited us. We might have done it once-but the suspension forms would have been waiting for us upon our return back. I also think that there are teachers that encouraged this. Our tax dollars at work.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am all for people protesting. Do it on your own time now school time! They are required to go to school so many days. If they protest during school time they should be required to do twice as many hours in community service. Have the protest after school hours and let their parents pick them up from school.

My Dad at WiHi use to take his shotgun to school leave in breezeway with his name and ammo on it so he could go hunting after school. Many kids did. Our world is fucked up and we don’t make kids responsible for their actions anymore.

  55. When I send my kids to school, the public school system is responsible for them and their safety. Allowing them to miss class and putting them in harms way is a violation of our trust. The school system F'd up and they need to pay for it.

Dr. Hanlin needs to resign ASAP!

I would also go as far as saying that the school administrations should resign as well.

  56. The 'event' was a waste of time. Unfortunate that administration cooperated and facilitated it. Disruptive to the class day. Small number of kids took the opportunity to stand outside in freezing weather and hang out for a few minutes. Misplaced priorities by administration.
