South Africa’s parliament voted Tuesday to move forward with an amendment to the country’s constitution that would allow the government to seize and redistribute white-owned land without compensation.
The motion was brought by the radical Marxist Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party and was widely supported by the ruling African National Congress, which controls almost two-thirds of the parliament. The measure passed by a vote of 241 to 83, reports Reuters.
EFF leader Julius Malema, a longtime proponent of land expropriation, said the “time for reconciliation is over. Now is the time for justice.”
“We must ensure that we restore the dignity of our people without compensating the criminals who stole our land,” Malema told parliament ahead of the vote, according to South Africa’s News24.

We should allow any white South African refuge in this country, and refuse to let in any more black South Africans. Their government is more racist than when there was apartheid.
ReplyDeleteCan you say "reverse discrimination?" As in this country, the black population confuses reverse discrimination as "justice." There is no justice in what they are doing. Trying to right past wrongs, with new wrongs against people that had nothing to do with the past wrongs, is just as bad as the original sin. Black rule has never made black people better off in any country that has it. Once they rule their own countries, they always make racist policy against white people, and in Rhodesia, they actually kill the white farmers and take their land without any legal repercussions. Like Muslims, they don't get along with anyone except others just like them.
ReplyDeleteI think they should offer some of that land to the African Americans in this country, and see how many of them they can get to go back.
Coming to a theater near you.
ReplyDeleteThey should take back all the people and/or ancestors we stole 200 years ago.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the people they stole it from ?
DeleteComing here in a few years.

ReplyDeleteSouth Africa continues to circle the drain.
Apartheid was wrong, but its successor is no better. Won't be a happy ending for that country.
I see a civil war in future. People have lived on the land over three hundred years. Some of the best land and climate in Africa. I don't see them giving this up without a fight. The British may even get involved.
ReplyDeleteAnd we still give the country tax payer money.
