Open Letter to the White House

Hello Mr. Albero, I'm hoping that through the popularity of SBY News that these comments will find its way to the White House and perhaps the President will pick up on it.

Recently a judge removed any blocks that were in the way of building a security wall along the southern border of the United States. Now I'm not going to spend time debating on if it's right or wrong to have a security wall on that border. I'm sure all your readers will have plenty to say about that. What I have in mind is a method to help pay for the construction and ongoing maintenance of the wall.

I believe that if we check back in our history during World War II, our government sold "War Bonds" to supplement the governments spending on the war effort. This program not only provided supplemental funding for the war efforts but also as important it was a program that brought Americans together. This is something missing in America today.

Well since the President has declared "War on Drugs", especially opioids, as the number one threat to America then the "Wall" is just one of many tools needed to win this war.The funding for this tool would be the selling of "Government Wall Bonds". These funds would be solely for the construction and maintenance of "The Wall".

These funds would definitely not go into any General Funds. History has proven that government simply can not keep their fingers out of these types of funding revenue. Just look at the Maryland Pension Funds, or Social Security or how about the lottery and gambling money that was suppose to go towards education. I don't even want to get into these any deeper but I'm sure you know what I mean.

The Wall Bond Program would mirror the WW II Liberty Bond Program. There would be different levels of bonds so that everyone can participate in the program. I'm sure if these bonds gave a much better return than Treasury Bonds then everyone can participate in helping our country and their futures. Heck, if the returns could be enticing enough I bet even Mexico would want to invest in them since drugs are Mexico's biggest problem also.

Well that's it for now. If this article gets passed along to others perhaps it will land in the right place.Yes, I have sent an e-mail to the President but you know as well as I do that some page or assistant could just toss it. Now it's time for you readers to jump in with your thoughts. Names are always great on comments but I realize there are those critics out there who complain about everything and are afraid to put their name to it.

  1. Unfortunately this idea has been proposed before, even during Obummers presidency. Selling bonds in peacetime is difficult. The patriot bonds sold after 9/11 did not do very well and I don't believe President Trump wants to take the risk of the wall bonds not selling due to the controversy this wall brings.

  3. This sort of thinking sums up Conservative logic well. "Don't take any of my taxes for programs that would help poor, lower class working Americans, but I'll give it to you in the form of a bond so you can build a wall." Which won't address the issue of the many drug shipments coming through legal entry points, the ocean, tunnels or the air.

    1. You made your point it is “our money” and we already give a minimum of 30% of it away to fund every government need at a federal and state level as well as support people that in many cases are perfectly capable of working but would rather sit on their “can” and take money from hard working families. Those same people that sit on their “can” also get all kinds of financial aid for college and everything else underneath the sun while that hard working family pays full price for college and AP testing, etc. with exception to earning merit scholarship money. So for the record I am half of one of those hard working families and have paid my dues in terms of taxes and at the same time have successfully supported one child through college (employed and on their own) and working on the second as we speak. If I would rather donate to build a wall versus go on vacation that’s my choice or are we not to be able to make any choices with the money we earn in the world you live in? What the hell did liberals do in their 8 years to solve the drug problem. If your kids had drugs in your house what would be the first thing you would do? Get the drugs out of the house? As a country we need to get the drugs out of our house by any means possible and then we need to work on the addiction problem but first and foremost we need to cut off the supply. So maybe you are some expert on how we do that or maybe you just like to type a good game. But while you are typing people are dying, so if you know just what will fix the drug problem how about sharing a solution other than digging in our wallets for more programs that are not working.

  5. If it's for the war on drugs they need to build a wall around the pharmaceutical giants that are pumping opiates into our cities and lining the pockets of politicians with reelection cash

    1. They've said they won't. So Trump starts a tariff on Mexican goods. Here's a good example for you: the tomato. Chances are if you're eating a tomato in the winter, it came from Mexico. Any tax on Meixcan imports will be passed to the US consumer. So Americans will be paying for the wall. Trump has already asked Congress for 8 billion to build it.

    2. When Mexico cannot get drugs in America (across the Wall) then Mexico is paying for the wall.

    3. If you put a tariff on tomatoes and shut down the entire Mexican tomato industry, all the Mexican tomato pickers would cross the boarder to pick them here.
LEGALIZE DRUGS. All drugs. Number 1 you can't make stupidity criminal. Some people are destined to be screw ups, so you take away their drugs and they turn to eating Tide Pods. Second, if you legalize drugs you have crushed the drug smuggling cartels main source of money. Without money they can not bribe and control the Mexican government or intimidate it's population. When the cartels fall and the situation in Mexico improves, you will see immigrants flooding back to Mexico.

  8. The cost of a electric fence should be less. The money we wouldn't be paying to feed the illegal intruders would pay for the wire fast. Forget Mexico paying, just simply solve the problem. Oh, be sure it's heavy enough voltage. This would be a easy productive deter ant when they start thinking about stepping into our ( legal citizens) country. Why does government have to make everything so difficult and expensive with (other peoples money)? Make it simple.

  9. Im not buying even one more piece of snake oil from a corrupt wasteful government. Billions and trillions are wasted every year on things like studies to see how many times a monkey bats their eyes when taking a dump. Billions and trillions lost, unaccounted for. Billions and trillions given to Countries that hate our guts. Billions and trillions shot into space. Billions and trillions to line the pockets of corrupt political figures and they gangs. Oh L NO

  10. A very good idea, BUT there is NO way to keep the politicians from dipping into the till, or even confiscating the whole amount for their greedy schemes. Only a fool would believe such a thing is possible..

  11. Sell them in Mexican denominations and there you have it.... Mexico will pay for the wall!
He get's to keep both of his promises.

  12. First of all, 9:47 is correct. Mexico is paying for the wall. The King (er, POTUS) has spoken. It will happen.

Secondly, why does the author believe “these funds will never end up in the general fund . . . “?

The author is naive. The US government is a criminal organization that represents the wishes / goals of the international bankers. If the govt doesn’t do what it is told, these people will crash the economy. The USgovernment gave away its power in 1913. There were consequences for giving these bankers the power to print currency. Then, in 1971 Bretton Woods was abandoned and now the US Dollar is fiat.

The government stole the SS Trust Fund for crying out loud! Wake up!

  13. All you are doing is creating more debt, just with a catchy name. That debt would be open for purchase on the world market like any other bond. I thought you guys were against debt, especially when it means outsiders are owning that debt????? I have never seen you guys on the right as confused about your principles as you are right now during this admin.

  14. Send it to the Whitehouse or Trump's email.

  15. Mexico is going to ultimately end up paying for it-just like President Trump said. We had been sending over 300 million a year to Mexico and that has been halted. Democrats being the dumbest species to ever walk the face of the earth can't think. They think there is only one way to get someone to pay for something and that is for them to hand over a check because again democrats are extremely stupid and ignorant and can't think at all much less think outside the box. Said it before and say it again democrat politicians need to drop to their knees daily and Thank God that all democrat voters are ignoramuses.

  16. I say a Go Fund Me page.. I would definitely donate as much as i could monthly if I could, as long as I KNEW FOR A FACT that the funds would go to building the wall and the person handling it is trustworthy. I cant trust the government when it comes to anything though.

  17. We have limited border crossings all along the southern border. Why have them if the border is otherwise unsecured?

  18. No 1024, we need them. They are entertaining, funny and most of all deplorable. Plus they do pay some taxes...which is better than nothing at all. If they were gone, then someone would figure I/WE needed to pay more. Nah, I live with them because they entertain me....as long as they aren't in charge we can live on this side of Trumps wall!

    TRUMP!
    TRUMP!
    TRUMP!

  19. Mexico getting drugs into the Country?

    Wow.

    How naive.

The US soldiers are guarding the poppy fields for crying out loud!
The CIA ran heroin back into the US in dead soldiers body bags.

    Wake up man.
The US government is corrupt to its core.
They lie to us every single day.
