Looking to capitalize on the public whirlwind demanding gun control measures, Ohio governor John Kasich took to Twitter to ask:
If all the sudden you couldn't buy an AR-15, what would you lose? Would you feel your second amendment [sic] rights would be eroded? These are the things that have to be looked at and action has to happen.
What I'd lose should be pretty obvious. I'd lose the ability to purchase an AR-15 to defend my family, my life, and my home because the federal government has prohibited me from doing so – i.e., infringed upon my right to do so. The Second Amendment could not be clearer in declaring that the federal government has no such right enumerated in the Constitution.
If the practical result is that my rights are inarguably infringed, why would your feelings, my feelings, or anyone else's feelings have any relevance whatsoever?
This is not a discussion. These are my rights. How you feel about the exercising of my rights doesn't matter at all. And if it is decided that your feelings warrant the legal erosion of my rights, isn't it clear that what we're talking about are not, in fact, "rights" as understood by our Founders, but allowances that government either permits or rescinds based upon the whims of a perceived majority opinion?

ReplyDeleteSo, if I want to own a small nuclear warhead. Do I have that right under the second amendment?
The population MUST be disarmed.
ReplyDeleteThe Banks know this to be a fact.
Right now they have no choice but to continue to prop up a dead economy with US currency printed out of thin air.
They are seeking an orderly collapse and transition to their new trackable currency.
An armed citizenry will interfere with their orderly collapse.
How come legal gun ownership is always the culprit? Mental health is the culprit. Always blame the innocence because it is political correct. What ever happen to innocence until proven guilty? What ever happen to punish the guilty?

Why do some people have to make such nonsensical statements? If you people don't want to own a firearm, don't freaking buy one. But STOP trying to force others to accept your beliefs as their own. It's NEVER going to happen. Focus on the ones who use them in an abusing manner and in criminal manners. (and get some manners yourselves)
oh 3:47 you're so clever, eh?
ReplyDeleteAt least you think so i bet.
Nuclear armaments are weapons of mass destruction. But you know that though, don't you?
Trying to equate small arms with WMD makes you a flaming communist nut job.
Go back to Huffpo where all you losers hang out.
Guns dont kill people. People do. Simple Stupid. Its a social issue.
ReplyDelete3:47....PLEASE stop that dumb-ass, worn out, liberal mantra of "why can't I have a nuclear weapon"??
ReplyDeleteWhy?
Because it take a modicum of intelligence to operate it and maintain it.
There goes YOUR chance, huh?
You people eat Tide pods and think the American flag is offensive and scary.
Not exactly the epitome of clear thinking.
When Reagan and Gorbachev met in Iceland to discuss the tearing down of the Berlin wall, (Yes, it was discussed before the president made that famous speech), the Russian leader and Reagan got along very well. Reagan recounted in a story about their meetings and chats, that Mr. Gorbachev had said that because of "All of the American's being armed, was one of the biggest reasons our country never tried to invade you". Pres. Reagan was a big Gun enthusiast and NRA member, and I actually think this story was in the American Rifleman Magazine.
ReplyDeleteNow we have a bunch of nuts saying we need to get rid of private ownership of our guns, have open boarders, sanctuary cities, equal rights for queers, the right to say you are male or female regardless of what you were born as, and more ridiculous BS, I see that they are attempting the destruction and downfall of our country from within.
If we even allow 1 type of gun to be banned, then it will be AK's, then Garands, 1903-A3's, M1-Carbines, then leveractions, pumps, slide actions, bolt actions, reloading will be considered the making of an explosive or "Other Destructive Device".
Going even 1 step down this path is a step in the wrong direction, and travel down the slippery slope.
