Joe--
Joe Bastardi at Weatherbell has been saying for a couple weeks that the weather patterns over the US (and most of the world) are extremely similar to the ones that occurred at the time of the big storm that hit the East coast in March of 1962.
He is saying that a storm system will form out west and move across the northern US, and as it arrives on the Delmarva coast it will intensify dramatically and move slowly out to sea.
A "big, BIG-ticket item" he says. Next weekend.
Foretold is forewarned.
Those who are interested can go to Weatherbell and scroll halfway down the page to the "Saturday Summary" video. it's all there, in living color.
wow
ReplyDeleteI checked the other forecasts from Accuweather and Weather.com. They both say just wind and rain for our area with highs around 43. You could be right, but I will hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of winter and I am looking forward to spring. I love being outdoors and working in the yard, and grilling. I like all the other season's except Winter! At least in the summer, your fine in the shade and after 5 pm it's a perfect time to be outdoors again.
The storm of the century back in 93 also happened this time of year. It was so bad, they made a movie about it! So did National Geographic.
Don't put the woolies and snow shovel away quite yet. We've had some late winter storms that have brought 2' of snow, 50 mph winds and tempitchurs (that's for you, Joe) in the teens.
ReplyDeleteAnybody remember snow/rain here on Good Friday in April 1982? All snow across the bay. Maybe not a lot but it can still happen even after the first day of spring.
ReplyDeleteBah humbug! 23 days until SPRING!
ReplyDeleteI believe Joe is correct here and we should all prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteYou just never know what the military will do next, and their secrecy prevents us from knowing for sure what the weather will be next week.
Get some water and toilet paper while you can!
Yeah, I've heard March is NEVER windy. Another month of slumped kite sales EVERY YEAR, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhere the heck were you born????
Oh, you live in Global Warming Land of Al Gore., sorry!
Look! The SKY IS FALLING!
Did Dan say it was going to be like this?
ReplyDeleteWho cares, fire Dan Satterfeild .
DeleteI second that. And take the moron from WBOC who is always talking about a "piece of energy". It's called a storm idiot, quit trying to act like your job is anything more than a guessing game.
