Trump on Iran: 'Time for a Change'

President Donald Trump, noting the Iranian people “are hungry for food and freedom,” said it is “time for a change.”

Mr. Trump’s comments came in a tweet Monday morning.

At least 12 people have been reported killed during demonstrations in Iran.

Trump’s administration has placed additional sanctions on the country.

Trump said on Twitter a day earlier that the U.S. will be watching "very closely" for human rights violations during the protests.

  1. *sigh* Why do US presidents continue to do this? Every time opposition to the status quo in Iran gains a little traction or does something high profile, US presidents can't help but open their mouth and speak. And each time they give the powers that be in Iran an easy tool to label protests as being fraudulent attempts by the US to take over Iran. This always swings Iranian public opinion against the protests. It's no different than if the Chinese came out stating they were for BLM. But whats worse here is that Iranian history shows that the US is willing to perform a coupe under the guise of opposition protests so history is on their side.

  2. Would it be better to 'perform a coupe' with B-1 bombers and ballistic missiles, 1:10?

This uprising is our last/best chance to deal with the wild-eyed Islamic extremists running Iran. The ARE going to get nuclear capabilities (thanks to your buddy Obama and his boy John Kerry) if things don't change soon.

If you have a government that will kill you in the streets if you protest, it's good to hear that the big boys across the pond are cheering you on and will help any way they can.

So you just go on back and edit the talking points that Valerie Jarret gave you-- they're dead wrong the way they are now.

  3. 140, where to begin?

"This uprising is our best chance": That statement is totally laughable and shows you don't have a clue about whats going on. lol. Tell me, how many military officers are standing down, deserting, or taking up the fight against the Shah? How many high-ranking Iranian officials are demanding the Shah and/or the president step down? For that matter, how many rebel groups do you see threatening sustained armed conflict? According to your logic, BLM must be pretty close to getting Trump out of the WH.

Nukes: actually it was your GOP buddies that squandered 100's of billions of dollars and thousands of US lives chasing shadows in Iraq while Iran continued to develop nukes. Pretty sure the experts agree fairly well the Obama deal put a temp. hold on escalation. They did a much better job there than they did in NK.

And EVERYONE around the world knows that the US is not going to risk armed conflict for these protesters. That assertion is absolutely laughable. And you have the nerve to speak about "talking points". I can point to primary sources that back every claim I've made. What do you have? Rush Limbaugh's latest episode? Dreams of an arm chair general?
