BREAKING NEWS: ARMED ROBBERY IN SALISBURY

What makes this extremely disturbing is the fact that these criminals who have attempted to rob an armored truck on Mt. Hermon Road, Rt. 50 and Beaglin Park Drive knew they'd have to be prepared for a gun fight. Because everyone knows the people in these vehicles carry weapons.

More to come.

  12. This happened around 7:30am- 8:00am this morning from what I am hearing and the Wicomico County Board of Education notify the families of nearby schools that their children's schools were on lockdown 15 minutes ago. And they also failed to mention shots were fired and the thugs were armed and dangerous and ran towards East Salisbury School and WELC.

    Wicomico Co Schools 15m

Parents of students attending East Salisbury, WELC, Wicomico Middle, Wicomico High, Choices have received a SchoolMessenger call/email about precautionary safe-in-place status at these schools this morning. Principal will make update call once normal operations resume.

    Wicomico Co Schools

Precautionary safe-in-place status for East Salisbury, WELC, Wicomico Middle, Wicomico High, Choices, 101 Long Ave & Facilities due to law enforcement activity in community. Thank you for your patience as we limit entry and exit to schools as precaution.

  13. @ 9:12 We don't know yet if that was the case or the situation but we absolutely know the lack of the presence of a gun increases crime.

  15. Jake Day, Jim Ireton, Jack Heath and Muir Boda are idiots for denying that we have a serious crime problem in da Ghetto 'Bury and Jack Heath wants to be the County Executive.

Think about this. We have the Salisbury City Council President who was urged to run by Muir Boda who is the Vice President AND Jack Heath's Campaign Manager and we want those two running the County of Wicomico?? No thank you. Those idiots can keep their Dangerous crime in Salisbury.

As much as I despise Bob Culver he will get my families vote over Jack Heath.

Why do I get the feeling that Muir Boda thinks he is going to get Wayne Stausburgs County Administrator position if Heath accidentally gets elected??? HMMM!

Not only did Muir Boda convince Jack Heath to run for County Executive against Bob Culver, Muir Boda is running Jack Heath's Facebook page and website. Keep in mind folks, that Muir Boda is a Republican who received funding from the Republican Club several times for his election(s) and he has also filed for the Wicomico County Central Committee whose job is to find good candidates to run for local office, not campaign for the enemy in another party. Not only that, the current Central Committee members know what Muir Boda has done and is doing and they have not done anything about it.

Not surprising. Most of the armed guards are nothing more than minimum wage, oops, I mean Living Wage workers.

Hey Wuss, one guard goes inside with the money and the other stays inside the bulletproof truck. There are also peepholes in the truck designed to put a gun barrel through for them to fight back. If the one guard left the truck then it's his partners job to defend him.

    3. Exactly 12:18, what does someone expect us to “think about the innocent civilians that MAY have been coming in to use the drive through or ATM”? Maybe we should think about every driver on the road yesterday morning that COULD HAVE BEEN involved in an accident. Such a ridiculous statement. Unless something happens to someone, why would we worry about what MIGHT have happened. SMDH.

  26. I read this blog quite alot. I try not to take any offense to particular comments made by various writers or the people and circumstances to which they are writing.
Apparently there was an attempted Armed Robbery of an Armored Car. Armored being the key word here.Despite what you see on TV or the Movies Armored Trucks are dam near Robbery Proof so long as the doors are closed and locked and the windows up. You may be able to get into one with C4,Symtex,RPG,or a Grenade. Armored Trucks are vulnerable when the doors and windows are open for whatever reason. A street criminal doesn't have the explosive muscle or firepower to get inside. The "popular" AK-47 or "Assault Rifle" so called, isn't going to penetrate the armor. So long as the Driver and his assistant stays barricaded in that truck they are as safe as they can be, nor are they armed well enough, or trained well enough to go head to head in a gunfight, the weapons they carry are more for their own personal protection than engaging in a firefight.About the only defense they have when they exit the truck they have a heightened awareness of their surroundings. Unfortunately after a time some become complacent and forget the "simple" rules" like carrying a bag of money in the same hand and side they carry their gun on, I've seen them do it, a very basic flaw that can get you killed.
These folks have a hell of a lot of responsibility, more than most because they have to carry a gun everyday. They are trained to a degree but not well enough to take on 3 or 4 armed robbers. That said there was one Armored Truck Driver right here in Salisbury some time ago that if memory serves shot an attempted robber of his truck. It wasn't a gunfight to protect the money it was one of survival and he did a dam good job. By the way the money is insured.
There's an old saying: There by the Grace of God Go I, in my career I was face to face on 4 different occasions with a gun, a deranged person, a career criminal, one high on PCP, and one who wished to die via suicide by cop.As the circumstances evolved I never had to shoot either, nor did I get shot.
All that I am saying here is think alittle before some of you may make these really dumb comments especially if your not really sure of what your talking about. The news that comes through this blog is really good, for the most part the comments are very informative, some of them anyway and can really be helpful to keep a pulse on the community but use just a little common sense and information relevant to the conversation.
