A Viewer Writes: Hey Salisbury Repair the holes in the road!

Coming home last night I came down Beaglin Park Drive. Between Snow Hill Road and Parkside High School there was a traffic cone sitting beside the road. Not in the road but near the sidewalk. It looks like they dug up the road for something. Anyway they didn't fill it in very good. It takes most of the right side of the right lane. Probably about a 4 x 4 section. Thank God I was going slow due to the snow because even at a slow speed it was one heck of a bump. No warning or anything and by the time you could see how deep it was it was to late to even try to slam on the brakes. Yes this was in city limits. Just after I hit the hole there was a sign saying City maintenance ends. Hate to think what happens when a small car hits that hole.

  1. That's from where a suv hot a fire hydrant and light pole. They did up the rd to fix it. I've hit that same spot before. Maybe by summer it will be properly repaired

  2. I also ran up on that same hole a few days ago . . . and I was really mad because there was no cone, no warning, nothing. And believe me - it is a very deep depression. In fact, I am quite amazed that the law enforcement officials haven't responded to such a catastrophic and unsafe situation.

  4. Unless it was essential for you to be out you should have stayed home. Plows can only do so much at a time with blizzard conditions. Get a grip.

  5. Be happy, now the hole is filled with snow and should be flat till snow melts. Now we know why people in PA like when it snows!

  6. They are too busy issuing smoking fines and inspecting residential sidewalks to make sure people shovel them to worry about proper road maintenance. GI Joe and his "field operations" are a joke.

  7. A traffic sawhorse with blinking light or one of the orange plastic barrels with reflective tape would give motorist a break. They put the stone in but may not have been able to get the asphalt or patch materials as the weather turned.

Jake, come take a selfie with proper warning finally put in place!

  8. @7:55, they are having a hard time keeping the main roads clear because of all the drifting. They get done before secondary roads. Stop complaining and go help. Because of pretreating and plowing some of us haven't seen our husbands since Tuesday morning.

  9. I came down this same road the other night. There was NO WARNING whatsoever of that hole being there. Even at the speed allowed this is a pretty hard thump for a vehicle to hit in the dark. Should we send you the invoice Salisbury and Mayor Day for the front end alignment and any damage it causes???????????????

It has just started to snow. No plows were to be seen anywhere. Yes it was essential not that it is any of your business. You need to get a grip. As many above have stated this hole has been there a while and should have been fixed. Hopefully when the plow goes over it it doesn't do damage to the plow.
