What No One Is Talking About With Mayor Day's Roundabout

It's simple, how will people get through the intersection when they start construction?

It never ceases to amaze me how your local media ignore the most important topic, as if they simply don't want you talking about it.

Not only have our viewers gone viral in comments here showing their belief that this is just a stupid idea and a waste of taxpayer money, Day is using his rubber stamp media to simply ignore the masses.

Much like the $100,000.00 Day is gifting an after school program with an individual who has FAILED at other similar programs they have been involved in. Day would've been wise to structure the funding similar to how you pay a contractor, in stages. PROVE you can accomplish each stage and you get the funding. However, Liberals just do what they want with no accountability.

Nevertheless, traffic is already bad at this proposed roundabout intersection, what will you do when the construction starts?

  1. I'll take Main Street instead! oh wait, nevermind.....

  2. So there is going to be main street construction and now on the other end more construction?? Did they forget they signed up for an 100,000 person festival across the street from these construction projects?

  3. You mean to tell me that this stupid idiotic idea has been approved and they are actually going to put a roundabout on this intersection. I guess I will be avoiding that area but at least it will keep the auto body shops in business when they get this roundabout finished. I don't get it we have managed to get the traffic through without a roundabout and if this fool thinks the traffic is going to get better with a roundabout he had better think again because there is no way that it will ever help that area you have too many stop lights on Rt. 50. All they would have to do is take some time to get the lights timed right and let the traffic right turn on red at Rt 50 but no this fool has to spend thousands of dollars on a stupid roundabout which will only create more traffic accidents.

  4. What round about? What did I miss?

  5. Local tv channels don't challenge any politicians here if it wasn't for SBY News we would know nothing.

  6. Maybe it's best to handle this the way Obama and his foolishness was handled-- let it play out and bite the voters in the axe.

The voters of Salisbury elected this clown. They deserve the fruit of their decision. Maybe it will help them to pay more attention during the next election.

  7. Drive a few extra minutes to Division st. or Rt. 13. Not that difficult to figure out.

  8. I talked with my wife about it this morning. The is the most stupid process I've ever heard of . I'm not concerned about how long it will take but what will happen when it's done. If you guys don't get rid of that idiot and the whole council you all will be doomed.

  9. And when will it be done? In the midst of your marathon and folk festival?

  10. It will take a decade to build it.

  11. Roundabouts are a European thing and stupid libtards always feel the need to do what the Europeans are doing even if it is stupid.

    1. Thank you for pointing out just how uneducated you are. Roundabouts when correctly negotiated by drivers create non stop traffic flow unlike a light or four way stop.
Remember, you being too stupid to use it doesn’t make it a bad idea.

  13. I don't drive anymore due to my age, but this is so dumb, who the hell thought this would make Salisbury better? If you really want to make Salisbury better get the hell of it Day. We don't want you here to use our money like it is your bank account to use as you see fit. AssH8le (map)

  14. Have they already gained title to the additional property required to build this???

  15. It's just a completely BAD idea...all 'round!

  16. 2:45: Voters DID NOT elect this idiot. No one ran against him. He only needed one vote...his own... to elect him.

  17. Remember the empty lot on the river? They are trying to develop it. No one at the city cares about traffic. It’s all about the revitalization of down town. Lol!

  18. It turns out that the City hasn't even hired a consultant to design the thing yet! Also they admit completion won't be until 2019 at the earliest so that will throw a monkey wrench in Jake's National Fake Festival.

  19. 6:46 PM how many times do we have to tell these uneducated idiots that fact. Every... Single... Day.

  20. 9:29 and 6:46 That is true because none of you stepped up to the plate to run. You know everything but do nothing, you deserve what you got.

  21. People are going to get stuck in traffic in that roundabout with no way out and then there is going to be alot of cussing going on. What an incredibly stupid idea in the first place to even think a roundabout will work in this congested area. Just glad I don't travel that way every day but for those of you who do, prepare to be mad most every day trying to get thru that mess.

  22. 11:12 - whether they stepped up to the plate or not, nobody and I do mean nobody deserves the likes of Jake Day.

  23. Its truly amazing how the ongoing pillaging of Salisbury taxpayers is an accepted practice. This guy Day carries himself as untouchable. The leaders in your area should be an embarrassment

  24. 7:20 seriously? only a turd of a city like salisbury could get someone as visionary as Jake! who else wants to be in charge of this open sewer? no one in their right mind that's for sure! so they all make a few bucks and get to wallow in their filth!
no one cares, not the people in the city evidently so why should we?

  25. Don't like it? Move. Most of you are too dumb to drive in a circle even though you spend hours watching NASCAR.

  26. 11:36 - you are clearly either on the boy mayor's payroll or on his happy hour invite list (which overlaps greatly). One inexperienced man whose daddy has always gotten him a job should not be making this kind of decision.

  27. Roundabouts are a dubious proposition to start with.

This one starts with numerous roads intersecting at very different points around the future circle. IIRC, they have been told to select a smaller radius versus a larger one so as to avoid issues in securing property that could delay the failed planner mare's vision. Plus pedestrians. Plus the sainted and rarely/never used bike lanes.

The mare is a jerk and he wants to build a circle; you complete the sentence!

  28. Has anyone seen the failed planner mare's traffic counts for the streets feeding his mini roundabout?

Look at all the tire marks on the mini roundabout at Wor-Wic. Barely a lane wide with a tight radius. Compare that one with the one in Rehoboth down the street from Dogfish that has inner and outer lanes.

The Woodchuck will screw this up, too, just like the Main St. debacle.

Perhaps the Folked Fest can use it for theater in the round!

  29. We could use more bridges to cross the river at other points to access Rt50. Plus, what good will a round about do, when the lights are red? Traffic will still be terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yhryvr been talking about a bridge down by upper ferry for thirty years and it supposedly didn't fly. It would make sense because the one there at the intersection of Carroll, riverside, and west main isn't going to for into a modernization plan

    ReplyDelete
  31. They have tried nothing and they are all out of ideas.

I havent actually seen them try anything over the last 40 years. Just complain about the traffic.

There is 1 problem here IDIOTS BEHIND THE WHEEL. They sit in the intersection. They block traffic period. It creates close to a gridlock situation and that is the problem.

God forbid a police officer go anywhere near there to educate people about their part in creating this NONE problem.
