Madeline Lewis told The Daily Beast she was destined to attend West Point and follow in her grandfather’s footsteps. “West Point was just something I grew up with,” she said.
Lewis attended the school in 2014 but was injured during basic training and had difficulties with her roommate.
“I kick myself now for not just leaving after I got hurt,” she said. “But I wanted to be there.”
The former cadet said one night she returned to her room after showering and found that Ahmad Ali Bradshaw, the quarterback, was there. He was best friends with her roommate, Lewis said.

There are always those who think that the Honor Code is for everybody else and not them, unless, that is, it's convenient and advantageous.
ReplyDeletewow, Ahmad, that is an all American quarterback name!
ReplyDeleteWest Point is a joke
ReplyDelete11:16 PM - How so?
ReplyDelete6:29... affirmative action, lowered standards, to name two. I know because my kid with a 4.67 gpa, All American athlete, Captain of soccer and Lacrosse teams, Eagle Scout (before gays and dolls), Commander of JROTC, etc was nominated and passed over for some black and Hispanic and other minorities with lesser qualifications, but who were coached in order to get in. How do I know? My sister's husband had just retired as the admissions officer and was told these orders came straight from Obongo. West Point, Naval Academy, Hell even the Boy Scouts ruined by "no child left behind" mentality. "The Times They Are 'A Changin' I hope you're ready. I am!
ReplyDeletePoor 714 sorry for your loss. Is that what your friend told you to spare your little feelings. Sorry dude, but there are very talented individuals out there that fidnt have a dad coaching them up for 18yrs. They didnt have someone cheering them on all through oractice and the games. And they didmt have financial or personal security in the neighborhoods they lived. Yet many of these individuals obtained strong grades, volunteered in their community, and excelled athletically. The Army, corporate america, and academia have long recognized the value of recruiting kids with the talent and grit (no matter the race) that comes from this background.
ReplyDeleteDont believe me? Hell, Im one of them. And I outperformed tons of my white peers in college and in the workforce.
First of all, anonymous, it is cowardly to hide behind anonymous. Second, you are a liberal in that you resort, basically, to name calling, i.e "my little feelings." But since you brought it down to grade school level, where was your dad? Still have his boots on while you were being conceived? Out the door to be somebody else's baby daddy? Stop blaming cultural mores in minority communities on whites. We did not choose for women to have to be single parents. We don't make your neighborhoods into what they are.We don't decide on anyone's financial or personal security. You said so yourself in that you are successful. You actually help prove the point. Nothing in my post was not true.
