The Painful Truth About The Anthem and the NFL

Time for some real talk about NFL players vs. our nation’s warriors who are being disrespected by them.

These players protest inequality while making $10 million a year throwing a ball in a country protected by men and women who make $35k a year and risk their lives for these players to be able to do so. All they are doing is showing fans what hypocrisy looks like. Taking a knee does nothing. Contributing your paycheck does something. Stand up and man up, whiners. You aren’t making a point. You’re making a fool of yourselves.

Players sprain their wrist — they take a month off. Warriors lose a limb … they fight to go back to battle.

Players have a bad day … they get a concussion. Those who serve have a GOOD day and they don’t die. Let’s not forget that.

And the hypocrisy … oh, the hypocrisy. Players get fined for demonstrations of faith in the end zone or altering uniforms to show unity with those who hold the thin blue line or protect our country. So why would we give these men who are apparently “role models” a soapbox with which to disrespect our nation?

Had to stop reading after this. Regardless of whether you agree with them, what is so hard to understand that being a millionaire does not make one blind to the plight of everyone else? The fact is its a good and honorable thing that they are being socially conscious [again regardless of whether you agree with their stance]. Whats funny is that according to your own logic, Donald Trump can never understand, let alone be an advocate for, the millions of low and middle-income folks that voted for him and the issues they care about. I know, I know, logic is not your strong point. We've come to understand that part a long time ago.

Lastly, you do realize many of these players come from cities where they grew up in the same conditions that lead to violence (both citizen on citizen and police violence). Do you not think it would make sense for them to care about an issue that touches this close to home?

"Socially Conscious" what exactly that means? Did the kneeling actually helped to those in plight as you suggested? Players have the right to kneel or sit, sure, but it doesn't help anyone. When they put that uniform/jersey on they are at work and suppose to follow the NFL rulebook in which it states: "When the National Anthem is being played before the game, players should stand and be facing the Flag". End of story. What would happen if any "regular" employee of a company decides to "protest" and kneel at the start of his/her shift? Suspension or possible termination. So why those NFL millionaires get to have "special treatment"? If they want to protest social whatever, go kneel on your day off at the Capitol. Thats of course if they are really serious about the issue, but something tells me most of them are hypocrites and attention whores.

    2. Socially conscious about fabricated events, all of which has been proven. Nearly all NFL, professional athletes carry concealed weapons, why is that?? If their so lovingly concerned about their hoods why would they feel the need? Because they're aware of the hood rats out there just waiting to rob them of any worldly possessions

  2. US Army here so I can offer a unique perspective. Don't really give a rats ass what they protest, I serve so they can have that right. The world is full of people I don't agree with and those that I do. I do want to mention that most NFL players have charities set up and do alot with their communities. Credit where credit is due.

    1. USMC disabled and I disagree 110%. I've stated this before on here and I'll say it again 10-23-83 gives me every right to say F*** anybody that thinks it's OK to kneel or disrespect those of us that have seen what sacrifice it actually takes to provide these freedoms

  3. 349 you #1 ask questions that have readily available answers you should likely look into BEFORE developing such a strong opinion on an issue. In fact, a good rule of thumb; the more an issue may piss you off or pull at the core of your principles, the more you should probably study up on it THEN go out and develop an opinion. For the rest of what you said, you are simply arguing that you are against the stance they took and the way they did it. Thats a moot point as far as my comment and the post concerns. These guys are NOT hypocrites for speaking out on an issue just because they are millionaires.

    1. 439 what issue? More then half the players are criminals and dead beat dad's. I've carried a badge most of my adult life and I can say they are full of crap. Typical criminals doing what they do best. Cowards.

  4. 141 hit it right on the head. In fact guys, unless you want to actually research the issue enough to become informed, don't even engage in the conversation. Just agree to disagree and continue to flip that channel at 1pm on Sunday.

4:39 & 4:41 didnt offer Any specifics, but suggested for everyone else to research the issue. Ok, Newsflash, of course there are issues, nobody is denying that. So lets kneel and blame the flag, is that you approach? Who is kneeling for those 500+ murders in black on black crime in Chicago this year alone? Just one example of many, but maybe we should be asking why it is not being reported by MSM? Instead we hear countless hours of reporting about "social justice hero" Kaepernick, who is not even registered to vote, what a moron, and those who follow him like a blind sheep. SMH.
