New York Governor Andrew Cuomo mimicked California Gov. Jerry Brown’s approach to immigration Thursday, pardoning 18 convicted illegal immigrants who were facing deportation.
Cuomo, a Democrat, praised himself on Twitter for his compassion, before linking to a New York Times article supporting the move. Cuomo claimed the federal government is “tear[ing] families apart” with the current immigration policy and felt he was taking the “critical step” to defend those who were unfairly targeted.
MoreWhile the federal government continues to target immigrants and threatens to tear families apart with deportation, these actions take a critical step toward a more just, more fair and more compassionate New York. https://t.co/QK1lzhMgfg— Andrew Cuomo (@NYGovCuomo) December 28, 2017
Ummm... how do these pardons actually stop ICE enforecement? Being here illegally is the crime, so deportation should commence no matter what these liberal idiots do.

ReplyDeleteJerry 'Governor Moonbeam' Brown and Andrew Cuomo - two sterling examples of Democrat/Socialist governors.
Granting pardons to convicted illegal aliens in their states on the theory this will stave off the drawn out deportations the illegal aliens face.
There is a legal, and sometimes lengthy, process for seeking immigration to the USA. This is the home of US citizens, and those citizens of other countries we choose to admit for short, long or indefinite stays.
You control who comes into your home, and for how long. So, too, with countries. It is an integral part of our country's sovereignty that we have the right to control admission. It really is just that simple.
The United States should deport Brown and Cuomo.
