I'm absolutely blown away with this news. Pete Richardson was an incredible Family Man and Businessman. I've purchased items from Pete for the past 20 years, including our west Ocean City home through Pete Richardson Auctions. I'm sure many of you have similar stories.
One thing most of you may not know is that Pete is the biggest land owner in Wicomico County. I was shocked and saddened to receive the message that Pete had passed away this morning. In fact, I didn't believe it because I had just held a conversation with him recently.
To the Richardson Family, Jennifer and I offer you our sincere condolences. Rest In Peace Pete.
What a loss. Pete was a great guy and quite a character. We will truly be missed.
ReplyDeleteRIP Pete! Prayers to his family and friends. You will be missed.
ReplyDeletePete was a true character in the tradition of his father Vaughn. A wonderful lifetime friend and a big loss
ReplyDeleteI just saw him last week by the Circuit Court and told him a dirty joke and he had a better one! RIP Pete.

7:06 Is it always necessary to be nasty? Your statement is irrelevant to the death of Mr. Richardson. There could be a time and place for your snide remarks, but this is not it!!!! Grow up and show some respect.
ReplyDelete7:06, While there's only ONE person who would make such a comment and I think we ALL know who that is, I do NOT live in EBT Affordable housing, like you do.
ReplyDeletePete was honored to sell me our home in West OC making arrangements to provide a Life Estate for the people who lived here.
Perhaps tomorrow I may share what's been done with this home but if I don't I'll simply say that we preserved a home built in the year 1900 to which I couldn't be more proud.
So we bought it at auction, so what. We also bought our Delmar DE home at auction through Doug Marshall. We paid CASH for both properties, something the EBT jackass couldn't ever achieve, yet he wants to rag on me constantly. No banks, no loans, no mortgages, something that absolutely KILLS LIBERALS.
My close friends can tell you what we have done to both properties and one thing is for sure, I am honored to own these properties and even more proud to say we preserved the West OC home to retain its history. BITE ME EBT Boy.
You’re still a tosser!
DeleteWhat a loss to our County. Not only was Pete a supporter of mine, he was also a good contributor. So sorry for your loss. R.I.P. my friend.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what you are referring to but timing couldn't have been worst.
ReplyDeleteNo one ever had more passion for the history/story/motivation for a deal. The sale took second place to the story. You see.. then.. it goes like this.. ok.. ok ... I remember him from 40 years ago when he worked for JV Wells, the earliest memory of an adult other than my relatives. One day, I was questioning my career path, he drove me around in his old truck on his farm, I decided a change was not needed. Been happy with the decision ever since. Good man that will be missed. Ahead of this time on land use issues.
ReplyDeleteI feel I have something to add about this remarkable man both in the business world and his giving ways. I knew him as well as some and better than others . I worked for him managing his office for 25 years. I worked for him for one year getting the sales ready to move to a sale location or getting it ready for an on site sale. I did that for a half day and then went to the office to help in the afternoons . I did that for a year and then took over that November and was there until I decided it was time for me to retire . He was a tough businessman, but fair, honest, and did his very best for the people he did sales for . He was also a very giving person. He supported a lot of local charities and asked they not use his name as a contributor. I will relate one story out of many. A counselor from one of the high schools called him and said they had a girl that wanted to go to her prom but her parents did not have money to spare for that expense. They gave him her name , address and phone number. He asked me if I would take her shopping. I said I would. He asked me to call the parents and tell them what was going on and I asked if I could take her. I did and she was so happy . He helped kids any way he could. You had to know Pete to know to understand him . He was gruff at times but there was a reason for it . Overall he had a huge heart. I will never forget him and he will be missed for his generosity and knowledge . A good man gone too soon .
