Surprisingly it's rarely the PD. Mostly is tucks like public works workers and you know who else. Here's a thought. Why aren't secretaries and most office staff allowed to get in their cars allowed to get in their cars and drive to Wawa for their break, if they even get one. These same city workers are here every single work day and it's a part of their daily routine. They have been doing this routine for years because I have seen some of the same ones.
I just stopped by Wawa and I just saw 3 trucks and multiple employees on the same side I'm parked on and no telling who is on the other side. It's late morning if that gives you an idea. Their day starts at 8 am and there is usually several here then getting breakfast before they start work.
At 10:58 am these 2 pulled up, (above). It's all morning long M-F if not all day long.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. As a secretary for many years I have seen the abuse of government time. For example (smokers). Please note I have nothing against those who smoke that is your civil rights. However. When you go out to smoke while on the government's time, it should not be every hour on the hour for 20 minutes each time. Nothing by management is said. However, a non smoker's time is always watched because Management is use to you being at your job or desk. When not there all the time Management questions "where are you" every time you go to the restroom. Go figure.

ReplyDelete11:31 AM I worked for some idiotic ins company downtown who rewarded smokers with a break but not non smokers. So I told them I smoked and got to spend 15 minutes several times a day in fresh air.

ReplyDeleteI not going to defend all employees but they dont have an office with a coffee pot at there disposal. They have to takes brakes on the road and pay out of there own pockets for that coffee. Also dont kid yourself they arn't making big money.

ReplyDeleteI see these trucks all the time parked on my dead end street in the Onley Road area. They just sit there doing God knows what in their trucks with the front facing the dead end so you can see the person inside. It's a daily ritual M-F.

That has always been my bitch. At the Salisbury Fire Department you would see Greg Hoppes smoking cigarettes every hour on the hour and always got away with it. Guess who his boss was? Rick Hoppes the Fire Chief and they are both related. Since then Greg Hoppes has retired and now his son is smoking outside every day.
A Delmar Ambulance is requesting a Paramedic unit from Salisbury to meet with them in front of the car dealerships on Rt. 13?? Why the Hell do they wait so long for damn help from a Paramedic. Why can't they call for help while on the scene in Delmar instead of 30 seconds away from the Hospital ER. These idiots should not be EMT's and should lose their certifications. Any basic EMT ambulance that calls Salisbury Paramedics for assistance should lose their certification.

There's one poor gentleman that worked for the city for few years now and I bet he's put on every bit of 100 pounds so the work he's putting in isn't too stressful. I see the same two guys one named David kellam I believe all they do is ride around town all day. I've seen them as far down as shad point "working" with the truck facing tree line at a sub station but no movement

You are correct. City employees are in Walmart all the time, but they can be found at both Wawa's every single day, especially the South one.

When you get a real job, buy your own house instead of renting and start paying taxes you might find a problem with it.
