Arizona mom gives birth in car then drives to hospital

A mother-of-five gave birth in her car on her way to the hospital then drove herself the rest of the way with the newborn in her arms, it has emerged.

Shannon Geise, 31, was on her way to the hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday night when she could no longer resist the urge to push.

She had already gone into labour at home and had her 14-month-old daughter in the backseat of the car at the time.

After pulling over, she gave birth to her son Sebastian with just a few pushes then called 911 who offered to send an ambulance but Shannon, who also has three sons, told them it would be faster for her to complete the journey herself.
