A Viewer Writes: FIOS

I’m paying FIOS over $213.00 a month and still can’t get FOX or CBS, I’m starting to get really angry, I’m already extremely upset that this BS has taken this long.

What the “F” can I don’t to expedite something between FIOS and Verizon.

  1. What's a "Fio"
Wow, technology is really screwing up this nation. Listen to the radio or have a chat with your family or friends . I hear a lot about I phones and I still don't know what an I phone is. My computer is all the technology I need.

  2. Is that $213 just for cable TV? or does that include phone and internet? Sounds like a lot of money.

  3. Stop crying, everyone local gets those channels for free. So what if Verizon doesn't carry them anymore, you still get em

  4. Why pay $213 a month for something you can get for free over the air?

  7. To begin with, even if everything is 'working', that is just a big bowl of stupid paying that much. You do realize FOX and CBS is free over the air, don't you? You should be angry at your decision making, not Verizon...

  8. There is NO TV programming on any channels or group of channels worth more than maybe a buck a day at MOST!

    You're doing Life wrong...

  9. Who cares about CBS? Get news and weather from the internet. I refuse to support Hollywood's liberal trash anymore. Have not been to the movies in more than 20 years.

  10. Cut the Cable. Disconnect the mass mind control of big brother.

Your life will improve. Did it 8 yrs ago, never looked back.

  11. Is this guy stupid or what?
I ditched cable years ago. All you need is a good antenna.
Why the Hell would you want to watch CBS or the liberal mainstream media anyway? They all suck for the most part!

  12. You do realize, Verizon Fios is Verizon right?????

  13. Just to offer a comment. My local channels are not FREE with cable. They charge me 5.95 a month for each of the two boxes I have that they gave me free in the beginning. So I am paying for my local channels anyway you put it.

  15. We don't have FIOS around here.

  16. Switch from Verizon to Comcast. Problem solved.

  17. Local free over air channels are free but Stations dont care when they are off the air. Antenna tv has been off for more than 2 weeks, but no updates or word from wboc. Once telemundo came on antenna tv went out. Fortunstely, my frequent rescanning has let me find 47's newest addition ION 47.4.

  18. FIOS ? at least you have the option...here in Wicomico, we are stuck with Comcasr

  19. OC on the island its Comsuck. Depending upon your living conditions (condo/townhouse/house) DirecTV could be an option - but not for most. Sad that Suckcast has no direct competition. The freebies over the air - again, depends upon your living conditions to have an antenna which can capture the signals out of Salisbury or Delaware.

  20. Wow, we got a promo from Comcast for $132.00 a month for phone, internet and about 120 channels. We cancelled, then got all kinds of offers to come back. Probably do the same next year.
got by with an antennae till comcast gave us the promo.

  21. You should consider yourself lucky for having fios. I’d gladly give up fox, cbs, maybe even abc to be able to have fios over Comcast...

  22. The only reason Comcast doesn't have competition around here is because local governments agreed to the franchise fee to allow it. Even Cambridge has two cable companies so you can't blame Comcast blame your local politicians.

  23. Excellent point, 932. That's true. Local politicians are to blame for the Comcast foothold in Salisbury. You can thank John Cannon. Why not send him your bills and let him pay for your cable being that he got a nice kickback from stamping that legislation.

  24. Dear Author of this post:

Why would you want local CBS and Fox? There's DC/Baltimore stations available. WBOC and its Fox affiliate are unwatchable mush. It's one of the reasons why people didn't call Verizon demanding they carry them like the station begged people to do on their commercial breaks.

You're better off with DC/Baltimore news.

  25. What you can do is drop Verizon for television and just get ala carte shows on a SmartTV. It's cheaper and you can watch what you want to watch. Using the Amazon Firestick, are you aware CBS unlimited is FREE? Most major networks are FREE on the Firestick. If you're that bent up about seeing the majors then get a $39.99 firestick and watch them directly without the local filter and nonsense produced by WBOC. You can subscribe to everything under the sun and still come out cheaper than $213 a month. USE YOUR BRAIN!
