what amateurs. Went to Connecticut two weeks ago for several days and was watching the local news out of Hartford from 2 different stations. Polished, professional - did not pronounce didn't as "di - int". Even saw former WBOC reporter Brian Spyros on the air and he was an improvement over local news.
Not only are local TV personal mistake prone and clueless, they are so predictable with their production. My pet peeve is the stupid kettle drum noise that WBOC uses when showing the weather tidal maps (as if anyone cares what 15 different tides are). Can't we get some decent production and reporting for once. Ditch the thinly disguised Johnny Janoskik ad posing as "Captain Willie", get rid of ending every sentence with an already stated county you are reporting from, and stop the happy talk. Just give us the damn news.
Give me a break! It's no different from what we see on Fox every day. Ever watch The Five? She's gifted with feminine assets: let her show it how she pleases. Look at the alternative. Furthermore, who thinks and says hurtful things to these young rising newscasters?! And, joe, certain things - like deliberate, public slander - should be screened. The first comment was uncalled for. It was crude and added no substance to the theme.
Small market stations have always been the farm league for new reporters. Good ones move on to bigger markets, the rest stay on or become car sales people or realtors. She is better looking than 95% of the local female population. If you want an issue to complain about, look at the crime stats rather than the weather girl's fun bags.
What always hits me about the state of local our local reporting is extensive coverage of high school sports that sometimes runs over 3 or 4 minutes of the news., with no mention at all of National sports. MANY times I've seen long segments where there are more of the school's team members on the field or in the gym than there is spectators in the stands. Even the PARENTS - not to mention the STUDENTS - are not interested enough to come out and see the game. So why the hell would they think that an average listener would want to see two minutes of , say, a field hockey game report? It's very obvious to me that the local stations are only interested in "filling" the news hour instead of actually "reporting" the pertinent news.
Why do you think sports is the last segment? It's what the majority of viewers watch for besides weather. The only reason anyone watches these fake arse local broadcasts pal
I’m not complaining because I could care less what she wears as long as I get the info I need for the day. However, I was a little stunned and said to fiancé “ The news girl on here looks like she went out friends last night and didn’t get a chance to change her clothes.” He came in looked and said “ya think”
As a woman myself, I don't feel like she's wearing professional attire. But, to each his own. That being said, if you dress like this you have no room to complain when men (or other women) ogle you. It's light putting Christmas lights up on your house, and complaining when people drive by and look at them. You have invited the attention. Just remember, look but don't touch!
guess where the eyes go first when she talks to a person? wonder if she gets upset that when that happens? Wonder if she complains about it? If so, zip the top!
I think maybe WBOC should let these young girls they have hired know what is acceptable and what is not. She does a nice job. They do hair and make-up they should give them a clue about what they wear!
9:26 AM, if by her age she doesn't know what is proper to wear on TV and what is not, then she doesn't need to be there. Any female in her right mind knows for a fact this is not proper attire for TV.
WBOC is just a training grown for new tv personalities, why you see good one leave and advance to larger markets. Times have changed, people over 60 probably think this is horrible, under think no different what I see on tv all the time. She does a good job at reporting, and has great assets, she needs to find a common ground in showing them! I watched the new Spanish channel, they could barely stay in their clothes!
I've seen this reporter at events and she's always dressed like this. Why doesn't WBOC teach these young ones how to dress appropriately for work? She represents the news department to the community. Do they not realize this? Doesn't she have common sense to watch other network newscasts and dress more in line with what they wear on air? Apparently, she's not all that bright and this is who you trust to deliver your news to you. LOL!
Not the best presentation, and too casual for her job.
That said, she's fairly recent add to their staff and may not have a much of a budget at her pay level for more professional clothes. Her college classes should have spent some time on what threads to wear.
Nicole, put on some GD clothes when you go on air. You look like a hooker. This ain't Long Island, sweetie. We do things a bit differently down here in the sticks. Class it up!
Little too early for Halloween isn't it? It looks just like one of those cheap cheesy costumes people buy for Halloween like a "sexy" maid or teacher or something. It probably wouldn't look so bad if she was wearing the right size and not 2 or 3 too small for her.
You know that makeup is on thick as glue when you look over-made up on camera. The studio lights down out typical makeup women wear outdoors. This means Nicky here is practically a clown face to the naked eye.
She's actually a pretty girl. This picture just isn't that great. With that in mind the clothes she is wearing here don't fit her look. She is the girl next door kind of pretty. Like for instance the Dana Perino type. Compare Kimberly Guifoyle with Dana. Kimberly is the exotic glamorous look while Dana girl next door. Kimberly can get away with tight sexy clothing. She can pull it off and it doesn't look out of place. Lauren is the girl next door so would look much better dressing that style as opposed to trying to look overly sexy.
"That said, she's fairly recent add to their staff and may not have a much of a budget at her pay level for more professional clothes." October 29, 2017 at 11:25 AM
WBOC may not pay very much, but they do give all new on air talent (and management) money specifically to buy new clothes.
If this is their new look, they need to hire someone better looking. WBOC want's to sell out and lose all their morals also I guess. They are already giving illegals their own station. We speak English here, WBOC. If you do it for one, you have to do it for everyone. Got it? Bunch of sell outs.
Don't be bullies, she is very professional. She is a young Women and has great presentation, nice fluid speech, and really makes my day seeing her on the news. It very hard to be a news caster. Great Job.
Nice rack, haggard face
ReplyDeleteI’m sure you are a beauty contest winner, creep
DeleteI'm sure your Molly the snowflake oink.
DeleteJust wait until its just spanish babble on Tela Mondo!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a Hooker ?
ReplyDeleteI take my comment back she looks unprofessional for "TV"

15 different people are interested in the tides that concern them.
Deleteme likey!
ReplyDeleteMost clevage sells....this doesn't!
ReplyDeleteRemember Michael Lopardi who worked at WBOC for 5 years? We currently watch him on an Orlando station now. Definitely more polished!
ReplyDeleteWho cares about the weather when you get something to help open your eyes first thing in the morning
ReplyDeleteI will watch now, they win...............

How about the other girl who talks out of her nose.

ReplyDelete7:29 Not on Verizon FIOS.....
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm ok with that.
ReplyDeletePUT them away! Who cares about your great divide?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to be taken seriously and want others to hear the words coming from your mouth, you should not dress like this.
ReplyDeleteJust as bad as the Facebook live/selfie crazy chicks on 47.
ReplyDeleteThey are so fake it drives me crazy !
DeleteI feel warmer already! :)
ReplyDeleteShe is showing way too much cleavage. It looks totally unprofessional.
ReplyDelete8:05 Better turn off Fox News. It's so funny that people have a problem with cleavage. Ever been to a beach or walmart?
ReplyDeleteBeen getting some really ugly reporters lately.
ReplyDeleteScary thing to see first thing in the morning!

DeleteMissing a stripper pole.
ReplyDelete8:27, This isn't the beach or WalMart. It is a television broadcast. There is a time and a place for such attire.
ReplyDeleteThen you better stop watching FAUX NEWS!!!
DeleteIt should be noted she has complained the way men look at her while at work!
ReplyDeleteShe looks unprofessional and ridiculous. Maybe WBOC pays so little that she can't afford to buy clothes that fit her.
ReplyDeleteSorry Joe, when everything else stinks at your station - sex still sells! People will watch to see sexiness and won't listen to whats really said.
ReplyDeleteSad yes, but several stations in DC do the same thing, the Weather Channel for years with their weather "girls" and many daytime tv shows.
One can have their scruples, beliefs, et al - but at the end of the day sex sells everything!
Completely unprofessional!

ReplyDeleteI think I hear Harvey Weinstein calling...
ReplyDeleteClothes does not fit the job, does she see anyone even on national news wearing such clothes I think not. Bad job WBOC you resort to this now.
ReplyDeleteShe works out at Olympia. Even better in gymwear
ReplyDeleteI applaud WBOC and ask for more of the same.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the sound man that had to mic her up didn't mind at all.
ReplyDeleteI bet all you snowflakes who are wagging fingers at this are all die hard Fox news fans...
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? This is TAME to what you see on Fox all day long.
Oh she makes me feel warmer all the time. She is hot.
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit that is a very appealing view.

ReplyDeleteShe's young - let her have her fun while she can. Can't imagine finding this offensive.
ReplyDelete12:18 It is not appropriate attire for work.
ReplyDeleteCan you say "Motorboat".
ReplyDeleteBaby, it's warm inside!
ReplyDeleteWrong size top honey...
ReplyDeleteIs that Celine Dion?
ReplyDeleteId like to know if all their staff are in America LEGALLY.
ReplyDeleteNice Top , she could keep any man WARM !!
ReplyDeleteWBOC EYE CANDY Good for Ratings !!!
She’s a Bengal. Ugly helmet but a nice uniform.
ReplyDeleteAnd what doe Dan have to say about her?
ReplyDeleteguess where the eyes go first when she talks to a person? wonder if she gets upset that when that happens? Wonder if she complains about it? If so, zip the top!

Look Cream Pie, the only Snow Flakes are Democrats like you and you watch CNN and MSNBC and listen to NPR.
You don't watch Fox News all day long so quit your damn lying. BTW Fox Babes are HOT unlike your lovely Rachel Madcow!

Bring back Ralph Penniwell and his wig.

ReplyDeleteWBOC mngmnt had to approve of it !!
ReplyDeleteDon't like it, watch another news station.
ReplyDeleteI watch the weather and news on NHK (Japanese) channel. Absolutely perfect production WITHOUT 30,000 commercials per hour....
ReplyDeleteSince when did BOC carry news? I thought it was ALL commercials during the news hour.
