"Binary notions of gender, biology and sexual orientation exclude large swaths of human diversity," the SPLC's "Teaching Tolerance" program explains on its website. "This diversity can be better understood by using spectrum-based models. Spectra make room for anyone whose experiences do not narrowly fit into binary choices such as man/woman, feminine/masculine or straight/gay."
The "Teaching Tolerance" program, launched in 1991, "provides free resources to educators — teachers, administrators, counselors and other practitioners — who work with children from kindergarten through high school." The program aims to "reduce prejudice, improve intergroup relations and support equitable school experiences for our nation's children."

ReplyDeleteWhen did teachers start to think they need to be involved in "gender identity" concerns, sexuality in 2nd graders, and telling kids they can be something other than what they are, with in depth discussions about penises and vaginas and how, if you don't like yours(or if you've never really thought about it), we can start (right now if you like!!) fixing you.
Just TEACH.
Leave the morality, politics, and your sexual proclivities and personal agendas at the f'ing front door.
Just teach.
Private schools are the way to go. Deduct the cost from your State taxes and let them deal with that on a statewide basis. Enough people do that and there isn't enough jail room for us!

A report published in April 2011 by the Williams Institute estimated that 3.8 percent of Americans identified as gay/lesbian, bisexual, or transgender: 1.7 percent as lesbian or gay, 1.8 percent as bisexual, and 0.3 percent as transgender.
So 96.2% are straight males or straight females.
Exactly, 10:45, and none of them are being taught how to manage money, a household, cook, clean, read, write or anything else we Boomers grew up learning!
