Police in Oklahoma City on Tuesday night fatally shot a deaf man who they say was advancing toward them with a metal pipe as witnesses yelled that the man was deaf and could not hear them.
It's the fifth officer-involved shooting in the city this year, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Officers were responding to a hit-and-run accident around 8:15 p.m., Capt. Bo Mathews, the police department's public information officer, told reporters Wednesday. A witness of the accident told police a vehicle involved went to a nearby address.

Why do they always shoot to kill? Why not hit them in the leg once or twice and stop them. instead of the heart killing them?
ReplyDeletehe might have been deaf but he wasn't blind when officers are drawn on you and you continue to walk toward them with a weapon your going to get shot!!!.
ReplyDeleteWas the guy with the pipe, obviously configured as a weapon, blind too? Could he NOT see that they were police officers with guns drawn? Being deaf is NO excuse for threatening those cops. This time, the cops win.
ReplyDelete9:07....ANY cop will tell you they shoot to kill so there is only one story in court.
ReplyDeleteTheirs.
Shooting children with 15-25 rounds. Blasting the WRONG neighbors until the gun is empty. Shooting homeowners standing in their living room with over 100 rounds. Shooting people FROM THEIR CAR. Shooting at cars DRIVING AWAY FROM THEM. Opening fire in the middle of the city (NY cops did this and shot a couple of innocent people and one of their own). Shooting people who are behind a door (killing a baby in it's mother's arms, too). Shooting unarmed people RUNNING AWAY. In the back. Shooting each other. Shooting handicapped people in wheelchairs. Shooting their CARETAKERS, by accident.
Shooting people for no other reason than being "afraid".
Afraid. While carrying a gun, wearing a bullet proof vest, and wearing a blackjack. And usually with ANOTHER cop. I don't care who you are, if you pull a knife on me and a friend, you're taking an ace-whipping and I'm keeping the knife. Of course, that's for "we, the people".
Wear a badge, claim lots of fear, and kill whenever you feel afraid.
Make sure there is only one story.
Keep cheering.
