ReplyDelete2:39 he was white. Thats how OC cops and judges work. Had he been any minority, he would have gotten life. I have seen many young minorities cuffed for an open container violation. No, they were not drunk nor belligerent, just scared and uninformed. It was the cop's chance to bag a minority. Yet the entire beach is an open container. Wtf??? God help you if you are brown, black, tan in OC the cops heavily profile. I live on the Boardwalk and see it all summer long. White people with coolers full of beer. It's pathetic and they should hang their heads in shame. I am 65 years old and white. I never had any respect for the police department here because they are untrained and uninformed. Travesty.

What I have observed many times, is the fact that in this town "Attitude Counts".
Cop asks you to pour out the beer, don't look at him and take another sip - then you're under arrest. Pour it out - everybody is happy.
Attitude. It means everything in a resort town when it comes to law enforcement. This ain't the Big City, and big city attitudes don't go over very well here.
I asked a cop once about what was the one charge that most people in this town get arrested for. His answer was, "Being a jerk."
I completely understood what he meant.
For what they have to handle on a daily basis during the season, I think they do an amazing job.
