Democrats announced the agreement moments after the House passed a first installment of relief from Hurricane Harvey. White House officials then confirmed it. |
“Both sides have every intention of avoiding default in December and look forward to working together on the many issues before us,” the top Democrats in Congress, Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Nancy Pelosi, said in a statement. |
