A Comment Worthy Of A Post 9-4-17

SBYNEWS has spent the last 12 hours blasting the fire dept without facts - proving idiots do not need facts to post - facts are bot the important to stupidity. As usual the ill informed are on this blog blowing up this misfortune, when firemen have been on the hit list for years there is no need to await the findings from the investigation. No doubt workman's comp and OSHA will investigate....no need to show some compassion by praying for the injured and the driver.

PUBLISHERS NOTES: First of all, I have been 100% accurate on this incident. So, you want details, I'll give you details. A Firefighter was sitting on the front bumper of the fire truck as it was moving. His feet were dangling when they fire truck hit a dip in the road. The Firefighter's rubber boots snagged on the pavement, pulling him under the fire truck and ultimately he was not just run over, he was also dragged for quite a ways.

As for the Firefighter's condition, thank God he is stable but it will be a long road ahead of him, recovery wise.

The information I have provided are the facts. Many firefighters have come on here calling me a liar, claiming he was not on the front bumper. They have even stated, how could he have been run over when the fire truck backed up over him. You see, some of you are just plain Idiots and have no clue what you are talking about, hence why I rejected so many comments. I told you people yesterday, I have a witness who saw what happened. Even Jake Day is keeping hush about what happened because it was just plain stupidity.

The ONLY people spreading rumors without facts are the Firefighters, not SBYNEWS.

  1. Joe first and foremost great job keep doing what you do!! I myself have witnessed this same "technigue" over in the riverside pine bluff area. The city of Salisbury government functions and first and foremost Jake day and his unrelenting pursuit of acceptance and popularity are seriously flawed. In saying this it is beyond obvious that anything that reflects poorly on the city and day's ability to lead will never be exposed unless people like yourself have the stones to challenge the status quo

    1. Yes it's illegal to do that but it's a do as I say not as I do situation. There has been so much publicly on this waste of tax payers money for no apparent reason other than to make a statement any negatives will not be spoken of. Let idiots do what idiots do

  4. Reminds me of the poor souls mangled or killed bow riding in OC. If true, it's hard to believe that a professional fire co. would allow it. Prayers for a rapid and robust recovery.

  5. No doubt that traffic citations should be issued, too, relevant to riding on the outside of a vehicle.

And an investigation as to why this vehicle was chosen to do the work (and who did the chosing), rather than one of the many utility vehicles that would have been safer and more cost effective. The FD also had the option of using a Public Works vehicle more suited to the task, though they'd probable balk at driving around anything that isn't painted red.

Safety is the FIRST concern, not PR.

    1. You stated the obvious, this absolutely should have been something that public works should have been responsible for doing. Like everything else with Day there had to be some sort of grandstanding, public persona involved

  6. Thank you Joe for all that you do. I agree with 10:51 am that this should have been done by public works, not an 18 yr old newbie firefighter. I am very familar with fire department safety and if the City of Salibury isn't held responsible to the highest degree it will show just how backdoor the town really is. I am extremely disappointed that this town was where I was born and raised. I am sure that some of the great past mayors have rolled over in their graves so many times in the last 2 years that they are about to rise in the graveyard. Now is the time for the citizens to rise and take their town back before someone gets killed, not just mangled. Impeach is in the dictionary for a reason !!!

  7. Doesn't change the fact he was riding on the front bumper and shouldn't have been.

  8. What's so difficult to understand about what happened yesterday? The firefighter driving the truck ran over the firefighter who was putting down those reflectors on the street. The second was riding on the bumper of the truck. Is this really that hard to comprehend? Not rocket science here, peeps!

  9. 11:53 am What citizens? Nobody votes in Salisbury elections! I used to be proud to say I grew up in Salisbury now I am ashamed of the rental slum much of it has become.

  10. The firefighters are just trying to cover their asses for the unsafe act that resulted in the injury to one of their own, by one of their own. No different than that other fraternal organization that polices and investigates themselves...cops. Does anyone think the firefighters are going to admit any wrongdoing that contributed to the member's injuries? I don't expect them to.

  11. So I guess we new another new law, one that makes it illegal to ride on the bumper of a moving vehicle, just for those people that can't figure out for themselves that it is an unsafe and stupid thing to do.
