Maryland gubernatorial candidate and former NAACP leader Ben Jealous was arrested during a protest outside the White House on Tuesday.
Kevin Harris, a campaign spokesman, said in an email that Jealous participated in an immigrant rights rally hosted by Maryland and Washington advocacy groups in support of the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Jealous spoke at the event and led a march around the White House before he was taken into custody by United States Park Police.
"His actions today are consistent with his life-long work as a civil rights leader and community organizer, including his successful efforts to steer passage of the Maryland Dream Act," Harris said.

ReplyDeleteHope he's charged and convicted of a felony. Just another race-baiter.
Haven't seen even a half decent candidate running so far. That's why I'm still for Hogan.
ReplyDeleteThis should make Jealous all the more appealing to Democrats. They absolutely adore criminals. Look at Hillary, Bill, Chuckie, Nancy, Debbie and of course, our favor, O'Malley. Yes, this is only his entre into the Lunatic Liberal elite club. He'll probably win governor now!
