    And the traffic lights placed at the intersection were supposed to save lives. Then again, I have had to stop at a green light at that intersection and wait for a car, that was barreling down the highway, to blast through the red light without even slowing down. His light was red for several seconds before he blew through it. I'm really glad that I had the sense to look before going through the intersection on my green light. There is even a flashing red light warning signal before you get to the intersection. Defensive driving is the only defense against reckless and inattentive drivers.
