  2. I was eight and I remember discussing the presidential election in 1951 in my school. I was an unaware kid. There was WWII and the Korean War and I cannot say I remember any news about them.

  11. JFK's death. What a horrible turn of events for America. I do remember having him as President and really liking his "...we do them because they are hard" speech. What a great leader. I was 9 when he was shot.

  15. Great times if you are a high paid government office or a Board of Education employee. I'll bet they aren't loosing their possessions or property!
    There are many empty and abandoned homes in the county as well. Very east to spot. Grass is high and there are trees growing up the sides of some of the homes. Even my next door neighbor recently had his pickup truck and ATV repossessed.

    My earliest was the Bay of Pigs when I was 6 followed a year later by the Cuban missile crisis.

  31. Plane crash 2/3/59 involving Holly, Valens, Big Bopper. Heard it on the radio riding in my uncle's Renault Dauphin with him and my Mom. I was six and still remember how upset they were.

Russia intentionally crashing the Luna rocket into the moon in 1959.That should have scared the heck out of a lot of people because it could easily have contained a nuke.A nuke strategically placed in our moon & detonated could have jarred it slightly out of orbit & wreaked havoc here on Earth.
