Report: Feds Cancel Plans For New FBI Headquarters

After months of lobbying by Maryland and local officials to be the new consolidated home of the FBI, the federal government is putting the kibosh on the project.

The Washington Post reports the federal government is canceling the decade-long project. The paper reports officials with the General Services Administration will announce the decision in a call with bidders Tuesday morning, and meetings on Capitol Hill.

The plan would have been paid for by selling the J. Edgar Hoover Building to a developer and kicking in nearly $2 billion to fund the rest.

  4. The reason the FBI building was canned for the time being is the construction contract was awarded to James Comey's brother. Being that Comey is now in the woods and will most likely, end up in prison, the government had no choice than to shut the project down for the time being. It will come back up again at a later date but most assured, no Comey will be involved in the project when it does.

And ANON 9:45PM, Hogan's lack of support as well as the Sanctuary Status vote that failed to launch probably didn't help Maryland's case to win over the project either.

  6. The Comey angle is new info to me. Interesting!

It was kind of a tough choice between VA, currently under the thumb of Clinton pal and 'felons make great Democrat voters' governor Terry McAuliffe or Maryland with it's crazy Democrat legislature. The loose cannon who MD's Attorney General also should get some negative credit for the decision.

I think the President is pragmatic enough to understand why and how Governor Hogan has positioned himself. We badly need him to be successful in a re-election bid.

True. The issues with both governors are apparent. And yes, the steep ties between both Comeys and the Clintons (and other government special contracts) runneth over. Breitbart published a piece in August 2016 that explains who Peter Comey is and his deep ties with both Clintons and government inside jobs to procure construction projects. Also revealed is Jim holds the mortgage on Peter's McLean home which is also an interesting twist because it provides a vested interest in Peter's construction business. Brother can't cover mortgage without government contracts to put money into the coffers. Its astounding how deeply inter-woven this whole spider web is in many regards.
