Rand Paul Warns The Healthcare Bill "Is Going Nowhere"

Despite President Trump's ever-optimistic overtures that something 'great' will happen with the GOP healthcare reform bill, Senator Rand Paul is dropping some painful truth bombs this morning on Fox News, warning "I don't think we're getting anywhere with the bill we have."

Senate Republicans decided last week to delay a vote on their healthcare bill after it became clear it lacked the votes for passage. But, as The Hill reports, Paul, who has been a vocal critic of the Senate's healthcare bill, does not see any light at the end of this tunnel...

"We're at an impasse," he said. "So right now this bill, which is not a repeal, has become the kitchen sink.

"The bill is just being lit up like a Christmas tree full of billion-dollar ornaments," he added.

  1. First, don't provide health care for those in the country illegally; second: allow people to cross states for insurance; third: allow groups to form; fourth: allow major medical coverage only; fifth: do away with an absurd system that requires medical providers to have more billing staff than doctors; and last, but not least: require legislators to use the same plans as the rest of us. Six impactful steps that could be taken tomorrow, if the political will existed.

  2. Very nice...ditto 11:58
Sad part is these are just common sense items that make no sense to a fat politician. Especially no free insurance for illegals and why on earth would the fat politician exempt themselves from us minions?

  3. Thanks, 11:58, you are exactly right! Your use of the word "Allow" says it loud and clear. As long as there is a "Bill", it means government politicians are getting a payoff from the premiums being paid. They need to get out of the business and stick with lawmaking.

I can only add limiting malpractice prizes to your list. Allowing doctors to cure without paying out a $100k penalty every year in malpractice prize fund money would bring costs down considerably as well.

  4. Mitch McConnell is the problem. The establishment is against anything that does not support the "good old boy" status quo.

    11:58 is dead-on.

  5. 11:58 I have said several times I could outline a bill that would work for all Americans and you just did it. Now comes the problem, it's the stupid greedy politicians.

  6. The Congress works for the corporations.
The corporations want a law that mandates that we buy their product, not matter how flawed or worthless it might be.

    I agree.
Congress will do nothing to help the average American citizen.
    It will only harm us.

The US government is out of control, but almost nobody can believe it, and so it continues with unchecked power.
