  1. Time for another multi-million $$$$$$ study ....call the Feds ........

  2. No need for a study. It was just another casualty of the "sportsman" in their million dollar boats fishing in the summer long series of fishing tournaments.

    1. How do you know this? Were you there?. All living creatures have a limited life span.Including sharks. It may well have died of old age. Sounds to me like your jealous because the big boys won't let you play

  4. What 2:33pm???? Sorry your life sucks and your need to tell us about your negative waves. I love fish, tuna, salmon, shell fish and I know how they are KILLED for me to eat them. I love chicken, steak, pork and I know how they are KILLED for me to eat them. I love clothes and know some animals are KILLED to make my clothes.

Animals are part of HUMANS food chain - period, end of YOUR miserable story. Get over yourself and the ZERO control you have.

    1. 339, you do realize during most of human history we essentially ate very little meat, most if which was targets of opportunity. BUT USING CAPS MAKE YOU SO MUCH SMARTER so I apologize for my stupidity in the face of your greatness.

  7. 616, I'm not 339 but I'm missing your point. I'm 73 and have eaten meat my entire life. My parents and their parents were very proud mid west cattlemen. It was meat/taters all the time. Hell, I remember the days of piles of dirt with potatoes underneath in the basement during winter time. I carried on the family business in the mid-atlantic and now my family continues the tradition.

I sure hope you're not the OP who talked about sportsman in big boats either. We've proudly worked very very hard to have, enjoy our boats for leisure and sport.

  8. I'm pretty sure this shark was initially caught at AI..and released. Was there injury in its gill? Yesterday while at AI state park camp ground a group caught, measured and released a shark that I swear was the exact measurements..they caught it on the I loop.

  9. Nothing against owning big boats. It is the senseless killing of billfish and sharks during the tournaments that I have an issue with. BTW, I am 2:33 and own several waterfront homes, 2 boats, 5 vehicles and 2 motorcycles. Not jealous of anyone and retired before 50. The other commenters can have fun at work tomorrow.

  10. big deal, how come we never see anything in the news about all the whales down there on the beach in oc?

  11. 819am, same reason there are no reports of land sharks either!!!!

  12. So being 73 gives you the right to kill billfish and sharks for fun? The great WMO and several other tournaments will be held in the next 30 days. Countless "catch n release" species will be killed during these tournaments. A "sportsman" towed a marlin to the scales in 2 pieces last year behind a bot that was too small to land it. SMH!
