They have done nothing but slander the men and women that decided to separate. They have belittled and degraded them on social media and in the local news outlets. Independent Company 13 has managed to stay quiet and persevere through all this mental abuse; that speaks volumes of the characters of their membership. Company 13 members are the kind of people we need to be ensuring our safety as county residents, not these jerks who think they can do and say as they please even if it is against policy.
For the record, I am choosing not to post my name for fear of retaliation by these jerks. I am not a member of any fire department. I have been following this situation from the beginning, due to living in the county and I support my volunteers 100%. They are the real class acts. Looking forward to your chicken again this weekend!!
The city has policies about this and they should be enforced. Boy Mayor and his minions will do nothing to enforce the rules.
ReplyDeleteAre these middle school students? Actually that is an insult. I don't think there is that much drama in middle school. If they are going to do this out in the open what shenanigans will they pull behind closed door. Any respect that I once had for the Salisbury Fire Department just went down the tubes if they allow this to go on. If they will talk about fellow fire fighters like this how are they talking about and treating their patients. Grow up little boys.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty clear in there
ReplyDeleteAs for Boy Mayor it's, do as I say, not as I do. So wrong for them to get on social media and do this but there are never any consequences to their idiot actions.
ReplyDeleteNever underestimate a person's ability to make a total fool of himself on social media even if he's a part of an organization that frowns on such activities. They think they won't get busted for it and if they do, they don't believe anything will come of it because who will hold them accountable? A mayor who asks the general public to make a life choice for him like bringing another child in the world? People, please... use your brains!
ReplyDeleteA formal complaint needs to be made, in writing, to the city regarding this matter. Most government agencies have policies and procedures in place regarding social media activity by their employees both on and off duty. Bryan Records is a SUPERVISOR and is held to an even higher standard. How can he effectively supervise and discipline subordinates when he blatantly disregards and breaks department policy in a very public way. I have absolutely no respect for Bryan. I have known him for over 30 years but have lost all respect for him. As a man and a SUPERVISOR, he should be above this. He is entitled to his opinion and feelings. However, in his position, he is required to take the high road and not stoop to the level that he seems to take delight in. Bryan, if you read this, understand, you are a grown azz man acting like a 12 year old. It is not a good look for someone who stresses "professionalism" and "service" to the community that you serve. Your father would be ashamed and embarrassed by your actions. He taught you better than this. Grow up and man up. Why a 50+ year old man is playing on Facebook baffles me. You're not in high school. Deal with your issues like an adult. You're coming off as a whiny bully who attacks people when they don't get their way.
ReplyDeleteGood way to represent the add. Who allows this mess to continue
ReplyDeleteBetween posting photographs of patients and their homes and this constant BS, I have lost all respect for these ignorant idiots. Useless. Overpaid and useless
ReplyDeletePaid or unpaid, these facebook entries are ridiculous and shows some have way too much time on their hands. Looks like if these are cops and firemen, maybe crime is really down in Salisbury or just being ignored!
ReplyDeleteThere is multiple post records has done if more needs to be posted it can happen.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor won't do nothing he has liked some of them post .
ReplyDeleteThis shows real maturity. Thug Life is probably the most accurate statement in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteHow can you expect them to bust the ghetto when they are the ghetto?
ReplyDeleteVery unprofessional or a so called leader!
ReplyDeleteThey all think they are God because they are paid. EVERYONE takes the same fire/ems classes paid or volunteer. If you want to see the stats paid vs volunteer from central alarm...The volunteers actually have more fire fighting calls and experience than the over paid un-professionals of "the bury".
Leadership in the paid SFD is clearly lacking. No surprise - there is no leadership in the City either. All these uneducated fools are doing is proving that the volunteers are a better option than the overpaid, lazy, low-class, unprofessional PAID men. Keep it up SFD, you are proving just how worthless you are!
ReplyDeleteHaving been a leader for many years I have a suggestion.
ReplyDeleteEach and every year I would require the employees to do a written report
of their job responsibilities and functions all year , including methodology .
If they had a 40 hour week then I would expect 40 hours of productive activity. This would be a major factor in explaining why we have so many employees in the fire dept. This process should also be monitored and recorded by independent people.
It just appears to me that the Salisbury Fire Dept. has way too much time on their hands during nothing but BS.
It's no wonder the dept. has a 10 year waiting list for employment to do 1 hour of productive activity in a 24 hour period ( I've been told ) is that right Jaws of Life ?
9:04 AM Sorry you wasted not only yours but your employees time with such a ridiculous task.
ReplyDeleteBryan is a weak, two faced low life, and here is another example of his total lack of leadership. Phillips, I would keep quiet, word has it Rathel will be unemployed not passing the Paramedic test for the, how many times? Facebook queens, keep going, it will be the demise of the so called "men", as it exposes the real "girls", and that's being nice.
ReplyDeleteJAKEY BOY - this is getting a BIT out of hand, dontcha think? I believe you should use the life-line "PHONE AN ELDER FOR ADVISE" now for help!
ReplyDeleteSigned - EVERYONE IN SALISBURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice post 9:04 !
ReplyDeleteI must say I am very disgusted with the actions
of the Salisbury . Fire Dept. They are a bunch of
bullies, Hoppes being the head of it all!! I cannot
believe our City has let this happen to the Fire Dept.
Mayor needs to step up, get actual proof of Fires , time
in/out doing their duties and listen to the publics
disgust with this " so called Salisbury Fire Co.
I applaud the Volunteers for keeping their noses clean
and working towards being there for the publics safety.
Thank you for acting like Gentleman not Spoiled , Winey
Bully Brats !
I hope this community will continue their support for these
hard-working volunteers and that CHANGE is on the way in our
Fire Dept.
I am ashamed to say I live in Salisbury anymore
with all the upevil going on and lies spread.
I'm new to this conflict. What is it all about and why are firemen going after one another?
ReplyDeleteThe volunteers started all the fire departments in Salisbury now we have a growing paid fire service and the volunteers are getting bullied because they are not employee's of the city that have to listen to the Mayor. Any person with leadership skills could have avoided this whole ugly chapter in Salisbury history, It was completely unnecessary for it to have gotten to this point.
ReplyDeleteI would die the city and records. Isnt that Deformation i would seek a lawyer fast.
ReplyDeleteYou mean sue ??
DeleteLet's protest the city
ReplyDeleteCity has a policy and won't enforce it so sue the city
ReplyDeleteBryan Records started in the fire department working with REAL LEADERS. He should hang his head in shame with what the fire department has become. Also, maybe it is time it stops being a "family business" for so many. Each generation gets worse with little to no respect for the people they serve. Their fathers have let them be uneducated, entitled little boys who have little to no work ethic. The City fathers are just as much to blame for allowing this to happen.
ReplyDelete11:05....you make the best point yet. "Any person with leadership skills could have avoided this whole ugly chapter in Salisbury history. It was completely unnecessary for it to have gotten to this point." So very true and absolutely on point. Be it the City leaders or the SFD leaders, this should hit home.
ReplyDeleteMr records has posted near 25 plus attacks towards station 1 or 13 what ever they are going to be called . He should had been made to retire at this point. He has done nothing but slander these firefighters.
ReplyDeleteRecords is a snake
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not on "C" shift . There shift seems to think they are above the other shifts in the SFD. There leader is a pos and if I'm ever assigned under him I'll find a new job .
ReplyDeleteBryan records should be made to go public and apologize to this station for his actions towards them .
ReplyDeleteSeems there is a major issue between paid and vol. The only way to fix this is cut all ties meaning the agreement. Joe how do we get a petition arranged on the agreement . Who in there right mind would give the city a say in the county jurisdictions. Sounds foolish to me. Why hasn't the fire chief association fought this agreement .

Bryan Records is an immature little boy who is nearly 60 years old. He has always been a backstabber in high school and working for the fire department. His dad wasn't much better. Bryan should have never been promoted, PERIOD!!
Bryan Records - do you think your father would be proud of your comments? Don't think so. He worked at a time when the fire service was respected and showed respect. You do not honor his memory. Shame on you!

Of course Jake Day, Boi Mare, won't do anything. He has "Liked," Laughed at and commented on many of the posts made by Bryan Records and others from the Slumsbury Far Deparmint.
Oh, and so has Muir Boda, Salisbury City Vice President.

The standard is clearly in place and some people have been fired for doing less on the internet. Some people have lost time without pay over the internet as well.
Ask Firefighter/Paramedic Bobby McCrorey and Firefigter/EMT Wayne Nap what happens when you post something on Social Media!! That's right, ask Acting Chief Rick Hoppes what happened to those 2 for posting something on Social Media.

Bryan Records is no leader and I am so glad Joe finally stood up to that bully. Bryan records rags on Joe Albero all the time, but then calls him and lies to him in order for him to take something down that was posted on this blog.

You are correct. The Volunteers that the paid firemen, including Hoppes and Records, ran off are better people. They are smarter and they do it for free.
Tell me please what Rick Hoppes has done to recruit and retain more volunteers?? Absolutely nothing! But he has put in a request for more paid firemen.
He also put in a request for 2 more brand new fire stations.

You better believe he is sneaking around the fire station like a snake always trying to bust someone.
He also sleases around with a police scanner while he is on duty and chases police cars around. He does this while driving a fire department Suburban, you know the $100,000 SUV that the outher snake named O'Barsky crashed.

No he should be fired without his retirement package. Rick Hoppes should be fired as well for not handling this 6 months ago. And Jake Day, well he should step down for playing a part in this.
The county council has NEVER been in charge of fire districts, the County Chiefs Association has always been the governing body on this issue. It has never been written as who has the authority and still isn't. Becides the next agency to determine this if it was in writing is the county executive. It's not in itself a budget issue so not under the councils scope of authority. The county executive gave station 13 a district to serve. As well as the county chiefs association, so what's the issue, it's a done deal. If it's not in the city limits the city had no say in the matter. Fire service agreement or not. It's time for the county executive to set this straight. And the county chiefs as well. If it was a clerical error and the wrong map was signed off on then they need to get it fixed. The mayor on record agreed to the public that station 13 had the territory of the by pass out. Now he's renigging on the agreement he publicly made. So this should tell who is reputable and who is not fit for the office he holds.

The Volunteers were a mainstay in Salisbury until Rick Hoppes, John Tull, Darrin Scott, Bryan Records, Jimmy Gladwell, Chris O'Barsky and Mike Donaway met every week and schemed until they ran the volunteers off.

ReplyDeleteNice to see someone knows what they are talking about. But how come Station 2 got no support from the county in 2003 but now they are willing to support station 1
DeleteStation 2 never had a plan for after the split, that's why.
DeleteStation 2 tried twice to leave but didn't have their ducks in a row and had no support and no plan for after leaving. Also don't forget the so called company that did a study for the city and county fire service employed Brezler. Even though this was brought up as a conflict the city claimed he was not one of the ones on the committee doing the study. We know how that goes though and I guarantee his opinions were shared with the committee.
DeleteStation 2 can leave but they won't cause of older members so 13 will just take there members 1 by 1 ha

ReplyDeleteIf I'm Bobby McCrorey, I'm contacting a lawyer and initiating a discrimination lawsuit. What Bryan Records is doing is out there in the public. It is clearly in violation of policy and he is being treated differently than Bobby was. You have to apply policy consistently and in a standardized manner. The key is, the same person is the Chief. By the same person treating two employees differently, they are ripe for a lawsuit.
ReplyDeleteCalling for a protest on the fire agreement
ReplyDeleteBryan records longest water boy and cup cleaner at the shorebirds. Great public image there as well. Fire the coward
ReplyDeleteThis fire agreement with the city will befit the city and be not so good for the county in the long run. The whole agreement needs to be pulled and examined and re written. I can foresee pay per call going county wide. If this does departments who do not have much call volume like Powellville will not receive enough money to operate. And departments like Parsonsburg will get much more due go the fact they respond a lot more than Powellville. This is what I see coming down the road in the near future. And if the county can just stop all funding like they did to the company in Salisbury that left the city but were funded as a 501 c corporation since 1986. Then they can just stop funding on any operating station now. For any or no reason. This whole thing is clear as mud, and I see a lot of corruption going on here. In the end it seams the city is getting what it wanted and the county is getting screwed ,
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the money with SFD. Years ago if you called Salisbury to help on an ambulance call they insisted they transport the patient so then they could charge the patient. And years ago when Salisbury was called to help on a fire call the volunteers would respond not the paid guys. That changed and the paid guys started responding so they could charge the county for the call.

July 18, 2017 at 1:16 PM
This is exactly what the paid firemen wanted.
Powellville, Willards, Allan, Sharptown. You might as well close your doors now.
That is an incorrect statement. Charges for ambulance calls are set by the government for reimbursement purposes from insurance companies. As for the fire calls it is a flat rate regardless of if there are career, volunteer or a combination crew.
ReplyDeleteI've seen both sides of this and it's simple. The station 1 clowns chose to leave the city and smear the city and its employees every chance they got and still get. The attacked employees returned the vollie to defend themselves and their stance. I think overall the chiefs of the department have the best interest of the city in mind and are striving for that goal. Reminder is the change for the better in the ISO rating, which helps everyone , the department and the residents alike. The city achieves the rating and the citizens should benefit by lower insurance rates among other things . Let's talk about the people known as Independants. Here's a story for you. An official with the IAFF which the so called chief of 13 belongs to was sent to observe a meeting for purposes of investigation only into reports of a violation of their bylaws by the said "chief" . Two days later while driving with his family he gets a call from one of the volunteers stating "stay the f^%k out of Salisbury you f$&king union thug" I believe was the exact quote. With his family in the car so it was on his hands free device for his wife and children to hear . You want to talk about professionalism, threatening another firefighter to stay out of the city? That's welcoming I'm sure. He reported it to the department but what else can he do. Perhaps before we go roasting one person we should look at it all and not just one side for convenience. I know for a fact as he told me his family was highly upset by this turn of events. So while Chief Records may not be perfect, let's put justice where it is due on both sides. Fine representation of a department with Salisburys name in it. Smeared crap on the whole department with that move.
ReplyDeleteWell what a nice lie! How would the said volunteer you are talking about calling the union person get his number? Hmmmm. Only the IAFF people would have that number!
DeleteThe ISO? How do you stretch hydrants into the county when they are not there! Plus now the amount of people needed in the time frame they require is not happening so how will it stay down? Oh maybe because an EX CHEIF is the one that handles the ISO ratings now!!!
DeleteGood story what volly would know his number . Your so full of your self . Funny public takes Bryan down where it's due and you wanna make up bs go find a hole . Thug yea I see one mike donaway. That's a great picture in uniform mike . Great public image .
DeleteJustify it however you want. However, the "phone call" that you speak of was not in a public forum. What Bryan is doing is a VIOLATION OF POLICY. Therefore, he should be punished and held accountable for violating policy. It really is quite simple. There is a policy in place and he is violating it daily. The Station 13 personnel are not a part of SFD and aren't bound by that policy. When you are an EMPLOYEE of the city, you don't have the right to "defend yourself" on social media. Why is this so hard to understand? Police officers must understand. You don't see them attacking people on social media for "perceived" slights.
DeleteHow they go he number is very easy the chief of station 13 works in said department. And yes it did happen as for Chief records of nothing he wrote was on duty then I guess to bad you have nothing. He like the rest of you can say what you want.
DeleteThe best thing that can happen is let station 13 go and be there selves who cares bunch of butt hurt ass clowns who want there own kingdom. It won't take long before them and parsonsburg will be going at it over area and funding.
As for there chief yes he is a member of a local as are many members of volunteer companies through out this state and others. But when you fight against another local you are in violation of union by-laws. The person that actually got the phone call is a volunteer as well as being a ex chief of a volunteer department on the shore so don't go there saying he hates volunteers.
You are an idiot. Policy against social media use is for both on-duty AND off-duty. I bet you ride the short bus to the fire department where to copiously polish knobs all day. Typical hose beater.
DeleteI'm sorry 10:46 didn't realize I was talking to a expert in the fire service. As for social media policy I can only assume as it has been found out in some courts what you say off duty is not the business of your employer. So most suffer from there actions yes and it's generally a long process to get back what's taken. I would love to know what your stance is on people that do stuff on duty that they should not. Maybe those with skeletons in the closet better look before they speak.
DeleteI can guarantee you that posting off duty is the same as posting on duty. As an employee, you are notified of the social media policy and generally sign an acknowledgment of the employee's rules. If you don't like the rules, you can quit. However, once you are advised of and sign the policy, you are bound by the standards. In fact, numerous courts have upheld that an employer has the right to restrict an employee's off duty use of social media when it brings discredit and embarrassment to the organization. Obviously you are not well versed in this as you indicated that you could only "assume". I have years of experience in dealing with these types of issues and can promise you that what I state is accurate. An organizations administrative rules and policies can certainly be more restrictive than the law. For example, it is only illegal to drive a vehicle if you are impaired by alcohol. However, an employer can have a policy that states you cannot drive a vehicle with ANY measurable alcohol in your system. Therefore, if you have .01 on a breath test, you have not violated a law. However, you HAVE violated company policy and can be terminated. Same with social media. As to your question regarding my stance on "on duty" behavior that should not be occurring, I believe personnel should be disciplined and held accountable. Perfect example is Jimmie Gladwell. It is well known that he engaged in improper activity on duty and on city property. Again, though this activity is not "illegal", it DOES violate city policy. He should be disciplined up to and including termination. Supervisors like Bryan Records and Jimmie Gladwell are held to a higher standard. They are responsible for supervising others which includes disciplining others for their violations of policy and procedure. They have both compromised their integrity and cannot effectively supervise others at this point. If they attempt to discipline a subordinate, the subordinate certainly can point to their violations of policy and question why they are being punished when the supervisor went unpunished. They have no credibility or integrity. Just my opinion. You asked, I answered.
Delete11:09, you may even want to click on the photo of the social media policy at the top of the page. It clearly states that the policy includes postings to social media from your home and personal computer. He is wrong and in violation of policy. Case closed.
DeleteTit for tat with you people. I'll tell you what I see. I see the volunteers acting respectful. I have not seen any negativity or social media posts trashing Records or anyone else. What I have seen because Records or anyone else hasn't bothered to hide it , is nothing but childishness, name calling , and disrespect. You know actions speak louder than words. I have no vested interest in either fire dept. In fact I don't know a sole from either dept. But when you have the chief of the fire dept posting childish stuff like that then you have a real problem. Like I said actions speak louder than words and you Mr Records need to grown the f up!

ReplyDeleteYou seemed to have missed the point of this post. It's not about right or wrong at this point. This man is supposed to be representing SFD. Apparently what he is posting is clearly against SFD policy but he is allowed to get away with it when others have, according to other posters, been fired for breaking the same policy. This man is a disgrace to the SFD image and this behavior should not be tolerated.
I get the point of the post the point is to make it completely one sided and I'm here to show there are two sides.
DeleteThis sounds awful one sided. The article spoke of pride integrity etc. I completely understand what it said but again you're telling one side. Someone threatened a man and his family while they were driving and that's not part of the point. I think it is A very important part. Let's not detract from the misgivings of all here
ReplyDeleteRecords called it the way it is now a bunch of escaped volunteer members who want to do their own thing like always want to bash him. This group of volunteers has not been quiet throughout this pile of crap, they too have done plenty of dirty work. Now they choose to pick a fight with the senior guy of SFD the most respected man in the department the one who is a leader and one hell of a firemen. Good job chief I got your back all day long.
ReplyDeleteEscaped? Someone needs a dictionary! Respected? Used to be till he lost his damn mind backstabbing his own friends then lie to their face! Sounds like another I know..... David Black!
DeleteMost respected? Leader? Bwahahahaha...spit his junk out of your mouth and keep helping him clean jockstraps.
DeleteThere are plenty of ways for the volunteers to get the phone number of the union official. Im sure that "chief polidore" has access to this guys number througgh his job in anne arundel. Im sure the fire chief over there wouldnt be happy to know that he gave this guys number out so he could be threatened. Thats one way. Im not sure but probably others have it as well. There ar several employeees who work or volunteer on that side. The phone call is now part of this public forum so its out there. Point being, it happened. The man was threatened. Threatened to stay out of salisbury. Thats sad. As stated before lets not overlook the misgivings of all here. Records posted on social media hes allowed an opinion, and if the new voluteers or what ever they call them selves are so secure and cocky and confident, then why worry about what someone thinks. By the way i have a question, what is the delay in service? I thought it was supposed to be july the first and the new station and memebers were on the street? Just curious, becaus i see its been delayed until september now. Just curious?
ReplyDeleteTo busy cooking chicken.
DeleteWicomico central has delayed till sept. for programming of radio and computers. No one called the union official from station 13 it is a plan out and out lie. It was probably someone acting like they were a station 13 volunteer there have been plenty of that lately.
DeleteFunny a volunteer got thrown completely out of the department for saying much less. That's because of the double standards imposed by this administration. Parity is what they call it. I believe it's much more like discrimination. There is a written set of rules in the SFD that everyone has to go by. Then there is the added volunteers set of rules which are more harsh. Miss a mandatory drill that only are held on Saturdays when some volunteers have to work to feed their families and you are suspended for 1/4 year, and still have to wait after that to make it up. If you are career than you are givin time off without pay and tight back on the job, and can make it up later. The administration is to blame for the failure of this combination department. It's totally Jake Day and Rick Hoppes s fault. They remind me of
ReplyDeleteStalin and his comrades. Don't forget what they want and your gone. Suck butt and you are golden. They both are not capable to do the jobs they are in. Now all you Chiefs suck up mouth pieces can respond to this cause you all would sell out to the devil himself to look important, or get a pat on the head.
The whole SFD is full of corruption and butt kissers, the volunteer division will now fail completely and the county volunteers will have to come to the aid of Salisbury just like they have to do now because SFD can' t muster enough manpower even for a simple shed fire. The SFD needs to be completely torn down and re built . They are failing now in fact 18 min for a gunshot victim, 21 min for a volunteer crew to assemble. 20 min for a car wreck with rescue. These times are stamped at Wicomico Central 911 center and are verified. These times were for the career component.
ReplyDeleteSad times cause of egos
ReplyDeleteRecords has always been the guy that thought he was the best . Truth be know he is the best at begin a snake and two faced . You think he is your friend nope not at all he is a coward.
ReplyDeleteThe word that best describes Bryan Records also describes a woman's lady parts...a cat...or a willow.
DeleteI think this county needs to stand up and demand for our public officials to do their jobs, stop the false information and childish antics, and help us fix this place we call home...the drug epidemic the pollution and destruction of our land and water ways...the pushing of low income families out of the city and into the county with more and more section 8 housing , the hunting down and imprisonment of citizens with ridicules charges while major offenders are either out on the street, being pushed out of prison for over population of said ridiculous charged offenders, or given sentenced suspended and probation knowing the revenue and consistent turnover rate helps the financial agenda better then real true justice....there is so much we the PEOPLE of the Eastern shore should and can do...there's no other time but NOW!!
ReplyDeleteShawn perhaps you can reveal your plan for what we the PEOPLE of the Eastern shore should and can do to have real true justice living in the place of your dreams. I think if you did a "cross-country study" our problem is a USA problem.
ReplyDeleteWe need a curfew for starters.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of losers in the Salisbury Fire Department. If I was an officer in that fire department I would hang my head in shame.

And guess who was the first one to "Like" it?? If you guessed Boi Mare Jake "Jacked-up-Teeth" Day you would be 100% correct.
Now what does this have to do with anything you might ask? They are trying to connect it to the Station #1 volunteers that were forced out of the Salisbury Fire Department.

I agree with you 100%. He needs to be fired immediately.
