Looks like a good indicator of just how bad things are in this county! You could own you property, but the county and state takes it away from you if you can no longer afford your taxes! I'm sure there are many more out there about to be foreclosed upon or will fail to come up with this years taxes. I know I am dreading mine when the bill comes due in July!
what do the Assesment value and sale amount columns mean? I'm guessing this is the amount that the county is selling the property for after the outstanding tax debt has been paid?
What a shame on some of these properties. Too bad all the manufacturing left that could have employed thousands of renters who could have provided the owners money to pay their taxes. These are good people with good intentions who invested heavily in our County, and lost the bet.
We need jobs here desperately and as soon as possible!
Thanks Joe for posting this. How would we know? A friend's mother who recently passed away, home is on this list. She probably doesn't know this. Think I might call her tomorrow to see if she is aware of this tax sale.
Anonymous said... The Who's who of slumlording is on this list. Can't recall the names of the TIF deals, but wonder if any of them are on here. It's worth the read.
