There's Always One A-Hole In The Crowd

  1. Well Rhonda, I don't personally know you or this child. Your need to express your own selfish viewpoints though give me no need to begin to care about your well being. A child (any) though tragedy is a life not given the chance to like and experience life at you or I have seen it.

    Are you jealous? Sad...

    1. How rude and disrespectful yes you are right children do die everyday. Considering that Brooke touched so many hearts if you would read up on her story you would then maybe understand better. Keep your negative options to yourself and stop being so damn rude Rhonda Whitehead

    2. What this has to do with this situation, I do not know.
      Demoncrat?
As we are speaking about saying things that are not appropriate....

    3. I'm a democrat also but what's that got to do with her comment. Clearly she's a miserable person. Look at her picture.

    1. Hitting a woman for expressing an idea. Wow, you are a class act. People like you, that stifle free speech (no matter how much we disagree with the idea) make trailer trash look classy.

  7. Sometimes one is special enough to be a poster child for a cause. Brooke sure excelled by being a leader. I'm sure she would have loved to have been a normal child, lived a normal life, had her first dates, her relationships, school, graduation, marriage and children but instead she fought a fierce war and one she lost. But she's touched a lot of people, professionals and everyday people all in her very young years. Brooke, we grew to love you even though we never met you. You are an amazing young lady who got her wings. And very deserving st that.

  9. Wow...what a completely heartless witch.

  10. The knee jerk reaction is to shame Rhonda. I wont go there. She is correct children die everyday. People face difficult times and diseases everyday. However, Rhonda- I will say this also.. what is so special about "her" is this- she was a face that allowed us to enter into not just her world but that world that embodies all of those children you speak of- I would argue that most of us held our children a little tighter, appreciated a little more and loved a little deeper. She took us all on a journey of the fragility of life and both mother and daughter showed us in the face of their greatest battle they never lost hope or a smile. So that Rhonda is what is so special about her- doesnt matter if you agree or disagree you didnt put their shoes on every day and walk in them. And perhaps you should take a lesson from the big hitters- timing is everything.

    1. To add to 7:35 she also taught us how to walk with grace during adversity...to always have a positive attitude...it's how you deal with a situation not the situation itself that shows your true character. Brooke showed a remarkable character. A character far greater than a lot of grown adults. You Rhonda are one of them. .

This is a child who has been fighting and and mother's loss of a child u ppl have a heart u p.o.s. Amy we are so sorry for your lost and just can't imagine what u r going through. 17. She posted it on WBOC's thread when they announced that the city of Salisbury's flags would fly at half mast. Not sure who deleted the original comment. Of course now that it is here they could see it. Hopefully not.

  18. Rhonda sounds extremely angry. Wonder if she lost a child and no one seemed to care.

  19. Salisbury institutions flying the US flag at half mast today.

    This is wrong.

    1. 9:00. You, like Rhonda, need to keep your opinion to yourself.

    2. I DONT care who it is the flag is NOT allowed to be flown half mast unless its a dedicated gov day or auth by the PRESIDENT.

      Delete
    3. And another idiot. It's ok to disagree with the decision of the city, but have a heart. This child was an amazing role model. Her mother as well.Of course you selected anonymous

      Delete
    4. I'm pretty sure they meant the flags of the City with the City seal on them... not the National flags within the city.

      Delete
    5. Did you also read that its the STATE flag, being flown this way not the US flag! State flag, is NOT illegal.

      Delete
    6. Of course the proclamation was for the City flag. But neither the Mayor nor the City's other elected officials and certainly not facility management hsve the authority to drop the American flag.
That fact has nothing to do with the passing of this remarkable young lady nor my absolute respect and admiration for her exemplemary life.

It is not an appropriate or legal response.

    7. May Day said the city flags not the national flag.

  21. Why do you idiots have to bring up politics concerning this heartless statement from an ugly bitter woman.? I don't u derstand why this blog continues to post these stupid comments.

  22. WOW, just wow! Ignorance comes in all forms! Brook was a child who fought cancer! That's why she's special. She was a child! If the City wants to honor her by flying glags at hslf mast, then so be it. Ronda...I hope you neber know loss like Amy is right now! If you do, I hope you are trested better than the wsy you treated her! This has nothing yo do with politics either! Ignorance comes in all political, racial, and religious forms! Just let the people who cated, vshare. If you have nothing nice to say, just shut up and keep it to yourself. Just becaise it's your right to comment doesn't mean you have to! RIP sweet girl!

  23. What a low life scum bag!! She also stated on Facebook but has since been deleted that the mother (Amy) was wrong for putting her child (Brooke) out there in the spotlight for all to see.

  24. Brooke was a beautiful young girl that was stricken with a horrible disease as unfortunately many are. Did Salisbury fly flags at half mast when ambassador Chris Stevens was murdered by Muslims? Glen Doherty? Seth Rich? Other Salisbury youths, daughters and sons?
Brooke was indeed a precious soul and it was at times tasteless and demeaning the way her illness and privacy were paraded on social media.
Maybe Salisbury should fly a flag at half mast for ALL the beautiful souls that died yesterday, the day before, and tomorrow as well.

    1. Again, the distinction which is wasted on Salisbury know-it-alls is that the City and Mayor Day do not have the authority to drop the US flag. What equally concerning is that they are ignorant to this well know and unambiguious fact.

  25. Rhonda stated she was sorry for their loss.. 2nd she didn't understand why it was so public. Not everyone deals with the beast as open as Brooke and her family was able to do. Yes. Not every child/family feels the love of a community as this one has and thats special on its own. However. Causing all this over someone saying sorry, and that all children are important is not a crime they are important. Maybe bad timing or poor choice of wording on Rhondas part. I don't think it was meant to be hurtful just not all families are able to share their story and allow the world to love their child as much as they do. Fly high Brooke and all who gained their wings...

  28. Could it be that the American flag was lowered for the Maryland serviceman killed this week? As far as Brooke may she rest in peace. This child suffered this horrible disease for so long and touched the hearts of many people in her community she loved. To Amy, God be with you in your time of sorrow as I could not even imagine what it feels like to lose a child.

  29. If she was bashing Jake Day taking an advantage of this photo op on this I could understand.

But in retrospect she is right about kid dying every day and not getting the attention, but the media played this up so she should keep her stupid mouth shut!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Speaking of Jake Day I noticed he had to get his little firemen and other city employees out to the vigil by the fountain to make it look like he drew a big crowd.

These are the same Democrat tactics that Jim Ireton used to make himself look relevant!

    1. It is sad that you believe the only reason firemen would be at Brooke's vigil last night was because the Mayor made them go. I saw the vigil on WBOC news, WMDT news and in the DT this morning, plus I was there.

I see NOTHING on SBYNews about last night's vigil or those who chose to attend. Apparently their number one priority is to post comments of snide remarks, and expression of hatred. Why else would SBYNews choose to copy and paste a comment made on the WBOC web-site.

I saw and met many - caring loving friends and strangers who came in memory of BROOKE last evening. Probably most of you commenting did not show up - under pretense of a protest against Ms Whitehead and the Mayor. Let me clue you - IMO this was not protesting time, but rather a time to express our support and love to Brooke, her Mom and her Dad.

  31. Some of us followed Brooke's ordeal from the beginning. I believe the family and Joe were friends. Fellow business owners in Salisbury. Many locals knew them. Anyone's loss of a child is heartbreakingly sad. Thanks to Joe, we were able to share the family's struggle and help encourage them to not give up. Our sympathy and prayers of comfort to Brooke's family. And prayers for wisdom to anyone who would publicly post heartless comments at such a sensitive time.

  32. Wow Rhonda.... you seem very heartless. I can GARUNTEED that Brooke mother would give anything to get back her daughter and for her to be healthy. Yes children die every day and it's very sad ... but PRIASE the Lord that Brooke and her mother had and has a ton of support from her family and the community. You Rhonda are not a nice person and you need a coming to Jesus Meeting!!!

  38. Her posts only became worse after this one. She went on to say that the mother of Brooke did it for attention. This woman is a sick individual. I can only hope she realizes how horrible her comment was and will show restraint in expressing her opinion at inappropriate times in the future.
I also hope the friends and family of Brooke find peace in this heartbreaking time.

  40. So wait...all the posters on this site are pissed that a woman said something negative that they didn't agree with? Isn't that what EVERY comment on this site usually is? Isn't that what this site is BASED on? Not saying she should have said it, or that it's right...but the fake outrage all you snowflakes are expressing because a woman did NOT agree with you is ridiculous. Get over yourselves...you're no better, posting the degrading, racist, homophobic comments on this site regularly.

Furthermore, it's the CITY flags which are flown at half staff by order of the Mayor. As for the American flag, I don't know why, but it was NOT by order of the Mayor. Bash him for what he does wrong (which can be a lot) but get your facts right before you do. He didn't do anything wrong here.

  41. Growing up my mother told me "if you can't say something good about someone, then it's better to say nothing at all!" It's called manners and decency, something that has been destroyed in today's society. The loss of life whether young or old is tragic. Life is short and death is never easy to deal with. God Bless the family and my prayers to everyone for comfort and condolences.

Hey Ree Ree, The paid Farmin WERE THERE because that is what Jake Day and Jim Ireton have been doing for the last 8 years is getting Salisbury City employees to their events to make it look like a crowd and not feel so lonely.

This vigil had nothing to do with this little angle, but everything to do with that worthless Combat Veteran(cough, cough) Jake Day.

Now get a life you liberal Turd Burglar!

It's not bright to do that on Facebook but again, being on social media isn't all that bright because you forfeit your right to privacy when you spill your guts all over the internet.
