Maryland state senator federally indicted on wire fraud charges
BALTIMORE —A federal grand jury has indicted a longtime Maryland lawmaker for allegedly accepting illegal payments in exchange for using his official position or influence to benefit an individual on business-related matters, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
State Sen. Nathaniel Thomas Oaks (D-Baltimore City), 70, is charged with wire fraud, honest services wire fraud and violations of the Travel Act in connection to his actions.
The indictment on Wednesday comes a little less than two months after a criminal complaint was filed against Oaks.
Court records showed Oaks was introduced to an FBI source by another cooperating individual. The source portrayed himself as an out-of-town businessperson interested in obtaining contracts in Baltimore through a minority-owned business.
This is exactly why you have so many Senators and Congressman running scared. Corruption is running rampant in Washington and they are all afraid they will be found out.
Looking at the picture of this guy, where the hell does he think he is, Africa! That is no way to dress to conduct business in the USA. This is insulting to see a government official dressed as a clown. Regular suits and ties only, no costumes!
The attire is very appropriate for the area he represents. It may as well be Africa. The residents as well as the representative are among other things morally corrupted. Except for small areas here and there the city is a war zone, a cess pool of crime and poverty and blight just like the 3rd world countries of Africa.
No it's what they call black privilege. Doing whatever the hell you want whether it's illegal or not and when you get caught you can lie and say it's racism and the rest of the morally corrupted chime right in.
All the democrats working for Baltimore or Maryland are snakes in the grass.Payday is what they are there for, not the good of our people.It's well know money talks in this state as we have an abundance of greed and corruption here, be for long we will be the new Detroit.
