President Trump lit the White House in blue Monday night in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
The move kicks off Police Week, which honors the 118 officers who died and 66 others who were injured in the line of duty in 2016. Those numbers were up 40 percent from 2015.
Trump visited the U.S. Capitol earlier Monday to pay tribute to all law enforcement officers and gave remarks at an event held on the west lawn of the building.

It was embarrassing the way Obama was always supporting the rioters and thugs and never supporting our police he was running his mouth about how guilty the police and first responders were before the facts even came out, let alone trials. He was a race bater of the worst kind he divided this country more than any other, and worse than the Civil Rights times, Martin Luther King would have been ashamed of him and would have spoken out for sure.
