The Driver of This Dodge Ram Didn’t Dodge These Protestors. He Rammed them. [VIDEO]

The recent spate of protests have spawned a new go-to tactic. Even a relatively poorly attended protest can shut down roads if they’re willing to put their bodies on the line. And that’s what happened during this May Day protest in Durham. This handful of protestors successfully blocked a downtown street.

Or so they thought. The entire premise of the human roadblock is reliant on drivers who are willing to stop. When they’re not, the unwritten rules of the protest break down.

The man behind the wheel of this Dodge Ram must not have been given the rules ahead of time. He was on the road, one presumes, because he had somewhere he needed to be. And he wasn’t going to let a handful of protestors slow him down.

  7. So the protesters believe they can interfere with someone else's way of life but others can't interfere with their way of life.

  12. Durham is a liberal town in a conservative area of the nation. Sound familiar Salisbury. And to the press who covered this. Why no word from the "other side". Only the "marshal" that allowed the protesters in the street. Kind of sounds like WBOC.

  16. The driver stood is ground, I tip my hat to him/her. You play in the street, you get hit by moving vehicles. If he/she felt threatened, get out of harms way.

  17. How about a police report on illegally blocking a public street.???

  18. This is insanity!!! An angry mob can storm your vehicle and you are the bad guy for fighting massive aggression with the only weapon you have on hand, a truck. If I had my wife and child in the vehicle and a mob was blocking my way and banging on my car I would LITERALLY run them over. They should be praising this man for the restraint he showed in not running them over, because he could have.
All these millennial liberal twats are so self observed they think they are the guy in Tienema Square, but notice that when the truck revved up they all ran. They are about to start something that they have no hope of finishing. It reminds me of a quote that I love,
"Those Bulldog cheeks can't back up that puppy dog @$$."

  19. when I was in orientation for a trucking company back in the day they were warning us about people in NY blocking the road to hijack us. the instructor simply said "that's what granny low gear" is for. drop it in that slot and keep going. hard to stop a diesel, to begin with, and even harder with the amount of torque that gear produces.

What 'balls' does it take to sit in a locked vehicle and drive over a human being? It is less about balls/bravery than it is being fed up with protesters bull.

But you may be correct in a way. Most people in this area are probably afraid of doing too much because they know who they live among. People who do not have a sense of right and wrong, proper justice, seeing the big picture, thinking for themselves and looking beyond the end of their noses are what they would have to deal with if they found themselves in a court of law.

They think to sue an entity for wrongdoing and making said entity pay monies as part of the punishment is only a way for some slob to get rich. Not to hurt the entity and force them to change their ways.

That is why the hospital, college, and any other big corp is allowed to do pretty much whatever they want with no fear of being held accountable. The 'people' do not have the 'balls' to stand up to them and do the right thing, all because they are afraid someone will get what they see as a monetary 'reward' for doing so.

That, I think, is a better definition of 'lacking balls' than what you suggest. They would rather hold others back than see any type of true justice done. And lawyers know this and won't engage in any meaningful lawsuits because the good citizens of this county are TOO conservative to award any amount sufficient to be meaningful or for an incentive for entities to do the right thing.

That's why you will always have what you always get. The good citizens stay poor and abused and the corps keep getting richer and more powerful. They would LAUGH at any kind of protest here, even if you could get any people off their fat lazy butts to participate in one.
