BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Howard County Police say charges against the inmate who escaped and eluded police for several days have been dropped.
The charges against David Watson in Howard County that were dropped were first- and second-degree escape and second-degree assault.
A Judge had ordered Watson’s transfer to Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center for a competency evaluation, but the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office and agencies involved decided an evaluation by a visiting doctor at the detention center was best.

Yeah, lets drop the charges in WICO and let him go back to DE for 100 years. No need to waste any tax dollars on him.
ReplyDeleteMaryland....Crime Welcome!
ReplyDeleteNo crime committed, Chief Duncan would say if happened here, he was out sight-seeing is all.
ReplyDeleteDrop the charges? Completely unacceptable!
ReplyDelete10:08 Why spend our tax dollars to charge, detain and hold a trial for him? He is already serving 100 years in DE at their expense.
ReplyDeleteTaxpayer dollars would be wasted on all the lawyer and court costs that would be spent on someone who is destined to die in a Delaware prison cell.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not fair, but logical.

How much was already wasted in Howard County for the multi-agency, multiple day search? MSP, Howard County, MSP helicopters, U.S. Marshal's Office, etc. That bill should go back to Wicomico County.
He should have never been brought to MD in the first place. He should still be in DE getting it in the second place.
ReplyDeleteHow the Hell does charges like these get Dropped ???? Dugh
ReplyDeleteLock up the frigg'in Judge then to take his place !!!!!
How does an Escape charge EVER get dropped.....
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable !!!
All you have to do in this country is Play Crazy and say
you have a mental problem...just like one who shot Reagan !!
Since he escaped from Wicomico County Detention Center custody, then they should have already filed escape charges. Have they or are they dropping the ball on this? They did in the transporting of a maximum security convict? This transport was a violation of SOP.
