Resistance Forming Over Trump EPA Cuts That Would Cut Chesapeake Bay Funding
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — It’s a President Donald Trump proposal that threatens to gut efforts to clean up the Chesapeake Bay.
Alex DeMetrick reports, there’s a resistance forming just over the Bay Bridge, aiming to stop the budget cut before it happens.
“I’m tired of defense,” says Senator Ben Cardin. “It’s only been two months.”
Two months, that is, since the president released his budget plans. His EPA budget proposal, in particular, would eliminate $73 million the agency spends to head up the Chesapeake Bay Program.

POS article with all the right buzzwords about a POS politician who "is tired". I'm tired of YOU, Ben!
ReplyDeleteThe Chesapeake bay foundation is a joke. Cut them off ! They don't clean the bay they clean the tax-payers out of $. They do a lot of showcase projects, indoctrination of school children teaching their religion of environmental extremism and grandstanding but most of the tax payer $ is wasted and goes into shell companies and gets granted to other small environmental organizations in which many left leaning company representatives collect huge pay checks and sit on boards of said companies getting grants. Cardin is part of this and uses his influence since he has been in Md government for a 1/2 century to get this $ and then use it as a political means to promote his left wing ideology.
ReplyDeleteTrump is making America great again right here in Md. All the money thrown in the bay to "save the bay" is mostly a big waste. More feel good liberal bull. Remember when owemalley used the money from the Chesapeake tags to pay for light rail in Baltimore? Cardin just wants to keep the money pit full, oh and get himself re-elected.
ReplyDeleteThe Bay Fund has been a scam for years , more money without results , liberal butt heads wanting more money ,Dr. Judith Stribling is the joke of the century, a career of nothing accomplished is her motto at S.U..
ReplyDeletePeople in Kansas shouldn't have to pay for what PA, MD, and VA do to the bay...just like I shouldn't have to pay for the bridge to nowhere in AK...the fact that we do is part of why we are considered a country - the United States of America!
ReplyDeleteAs long as VA and PA institute a flush tax - ours is OK...they don't have one and we're paying more than our fair share...do we pollute more? No, most of it comes from north of Conowingo...!
Ah, typical shore comments here. Ridicule and ostracize everything you don't understand. Indoctrinating school children by teaching the religion of environmental extremism? Take off your tin foil hat. The bay would be in horrible shape if every thought like you. Try and think beyond what you see immediately in front of you. I know it may be a struggle for you but I'd like the next few generations to enjoy the same, if not better, MD I did.
ReplyDeleteLet Maryland pay for it. Why should federal tax dollars be used for a state project?
ReplyDelete12:52 PM - yes the foundation is nothing more than a fund for the top tiers to line their pockets with
ReplyDelete1:25 PM Is that a joke? The bay is still in a horrible condition after the millions of dollars laundered thru the foundation. They probably only spend 10 cents on the dollar cleaning up the Bay. Do some research before you type and look like a colossal idiot.
1:26 Why should federal tax dollars be used for roads or education in MD?
ReplyDeleteCut the funding. At this point in my life, I don't care what happens to the Bay. I was lucky to have been able to harvest fish, oysters and crabs when there were plenty of them. You want to ruin it go right ahead.
ReplyDeleteWhy does the tax payer be responsible for company screw-ups? The companies are becoming millionaires off of their screw-ups so make them pay for it. The owners should never be exempt from lawsuits for these clean-ups. In other words punish the culprit and not me.
ReplyDeleteAt 1:25 you are the one with the tin foil hat if you think these politicians and the Chesapeake Bay foundation have ever done a damn thing to clean up the bay other than pick up a few pieces of trash in a creek somewhere as the lap dog media like wboc runs in to cover it.The Bay has never been a disaster as it is portrayed in the media and most of the pollution has come from the urban areas which through adavances in technology now pollute less. I understand corruption when I see it. Cardin and the CBF would take credit for the sun coming up in the morning if they thought we were stupid enough to believe it! As for the typical shore comments I want the next generation to enjoy the bay as well but not at the expense of unnecessary burdens on this generation and what good will it be if the next generation is bankrupt! PRESIDENT TRUMP SEEMS TO ALSO HAVE TYPICAL SHORE THINKING MAGA
ReplyDeleteLet George Soros pay to clean up the bay!!
ReplyDeleteCut all that crap....Bay funding, global warming, anything to do with E.P.A. make the individual states foot the bills. get that casino money to use...hasn't done a damn thing for schools or roads!!! Tighten the belt President Trump!
ReplyDelete2:16 says "I'm dying soon, so I don't care about future generations!"
ReplyDeleteGet out of here, and just die so we're saved the trouble.
3:58 He said it is up to you to save it and cutting funding doesn't help.
ReplyDeleteTruth is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation is like the Clinton Foundation and the Education Department...it can never get enough money to fix the problem. Hold polluting municipalities and companies accountable and employ tactics that work. Let the Watermen who livelihoods depend on it offer solutions.Exelon should be accountable to properly maintain the Conawongo Damn since that is the biggest source of pollution.
ReplyDeleteLook at how much money the left spends on community organizing and protests. Ben Cardin is only concerned about his income stream to groups that elect p.o.s.'s like him and the troll that retired last year. Let the young skulls full of mush in the colleges figure out how to help the bay instead of teaching them how being a wuss is essential to happiness. Maryland will always suck as long as the libtards on the western shore carry the state. If they b@#$ch about whatever, then I support it. Cut that funding Mr. President maybe the libtards will jump in the bay take a nice long swim out to sea.
ReplyDeleteIt's not like the money earmarked for bay restoration has ever been used for bay restoration. There is NO ACCOUNTING of those dollars!
