The epidemic of wilting American college students unable to handle visiting speakers with dangerous, conservative views doesn't appear to be slowing down.
With Notre Dame students feeling "unsafe" at the prospect of Vice President Mike Pence speaking at their commencement, the riots at Berkeley caused by the presence of professional troll Milo Yiannopoulos on campus, and the explosive protest in March against author Charles Murray at Middlebury College that resulted in the assault of a professor, the war on campuses against freedom of expression and hearing opposing views is pervasive and troubling.
The most recent example? Claremont McKenna students shutting down a speaking event for conservative author Heather Mac Donald earlier this month. Her great crime appeared to be authoring a book about a war on police officers in the United States and speaking out about said views.

This bunch of millenials do not even know what the hell they are protesting. If one person in either of their families was raped or killed by the radical muslims they would lay down those weapons. It is time for all AMERICANS to stand up for America!!!! Uncover your damn faces and fight for your country instead of being brainwashed by the liars that are teaching you so much hate.
ReplyDeleteAnd in most cases you will find that there are hired thugs in the middle of it. it is called George Soros

intolerant of the bs that young people display. Some no fault of their own, just youth, inexperience, failure to listen and learn and other typical symptoms of young people 'knowing it all'.
Older people got that way from surviving. We all were young once and been through all/most the nonsense young people are going through. Except we didn't get that emotional from reading some crap on social media, because we didn't have social media other than telephones.
People would be better served to point their fingers at themselves first before others and correct their own problems before they attempt to correct others.
And that is falling on deaf ears I am sure.
11:52 Most people are just know-it -alls who live in the past. Get over it. Times have changed.
DeleteThese kids haven't been taught by their parents to respect others and their opinions.
ReplyDelete12:40. The old people I have come across on The Shore are some of the rudest old people I have ever seen. Apparently nobody taught them any manners EVER!!!
Deleteecho'in on 1152am....Plain and very simple, our snowflakes lack experience in life. We elders, although never snowflakes, had the need for life "seasoning" and when we got out of line our parents assured use with necessary counseling! Counseling that today's snowflakes just could not understand.
ReplyDeleteHence the need for today's snowflakes to listen/observe first because as 1152am mention - many problems today can be rectified with simple listening and observation rather than head first flying off at the mouth without any purpose.
The "old" adage still applies with today's snowflakes - be seen, but not heard!!
Why, cuz the old people know a whole lot more than you do! With or WITHOUT an education! Ask them something sometime - you might...no you WILL learn a thing or two!
11:52 and yet you still continue to make the same mistakes as when you were younger.
