The Maryland Senate today passed, HB913, the Maryland Defense Act of 2017 – mandating that the administration fund five new attorneys in the Office of the Attorney General to sue the federal government — at a cost of $1 million annually.
The measure passed the Senate 30-15, a veto-proof majority. It is one of about two dozen bills delivered to Gov. Larry Hogan yesterday. He has only six days, not counting Sunday, to sign, veto or let the bills become law. Hogan has criticized the new powers for the attorney general, and is generally opposed to spending mandates.
The legislature would have time to override any veto by the time it adjourns April 10.

Whose side is he on, Obama's? Hillary's?
ReplyDeletecan we sue frosh for his polices?
ReplyDeleteGovernor - go on record and wait till the last day and veto this as wasteful spending!
ReplyDeleteThis shows what an embarrassment the state of Md has become. A total waste of tax payers dollars. The irony of outrage when a Waterman has an extra bushel of oysters or an extra fish, crosses an imaginary line or forgets to fill out bull shit paperwork compared to 1 million dollars to a few lawyers when we all know they cant win and shouldn't. We should explore the relationship between these attorneys and the so called elected officials
ReplyDeleteI agree with 10:03 Poster that said, "Can we sue Frosh for his policies". I am certain that most Marylanders consider Frosh's legal slush fund as a MISAPPROPRIATION OF TAXPAUERS MONIES!!!
ReplyDeleteRight, Governor Hogan needs to cut the budget.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a "Tea Party" in Annapolis and fast! These idiots are gonna screw our state to the wall!
ReplyDeleteSuing the federal government or the president and his policies should be decided by the people through a referendom. This is purely political posturing by the Democrats who are still unhappy they lost the election!
ReplyDeleteFrosh should be removed from office. This is a blatant act of wasteful spending. Where is Miller on this? He is still his spend spend self. Him not supporting Sanctuary State Bill was just a joke / diversion / con.
ReplyDeleteNOT with MY money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is time to get rid of Frosh, Miller, and Busch. Mariyland legislature needs to take a time out and get a grip; they need to get back to doing the work of the people.

ReplyDeleteWhere have you been -- that happened years ago!
Hogan is a powerless governor
ReplyDeleteThe views and political BS coming from the democratic politicians in Annapolis, do not represent the Patriots of the eastern shore of MD. We will prevail...
ReplyDeleteWhat is the need for having a governor. The dems have figured a way around everything they don't agree with.
