Planned Parenthood Would Lose $178M In Medicaid Payments Under GOP Bill

The proposed American Health Care Act targets the health provider Planned Parenthood with a set of proposed limits on Medicaid payments to the organization.

Monday, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office confirmed the magnitude of those limits. The Republican plan would block $178 million in Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood in 2017.

"The vast majority of our patients are on some kind of federal program," Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, told NPR's Ari Shapiro on Tuesday.

In all, she said, about 1.6 million patients receive health care from the organization each year through federal programs such as Medicaid, totaling upwards of $400 million in annual federal reimbursements.

"Planned Parenthood operates just like every other health care provider in this country that provides abortion services. We get reimbursed for preventive care," she explained.

Only $178M? They get over $500M from the Federal Government now with most of it going towards Democrat candidate campaign funds. It's a massive democrat money-laundering scheme much like the Clinton Foundation scam. Why are taxpayers continuing to allow this? It's not like Planned Parenthood has anything to do with women's health issues. They don't even have ways to perform routine check-up items for women.

  3. Run them out into the street. They should be homeless, give out tax money to something worthy like veteran's. It is impossible to believe where our taxes go, plus the places we don't even know. Seems like each day it comes out where millions go to crap I've never heard of. Not to mention what politicians steal.

  4. Imagine how many mammogram machines they could buy with $500M a year but don't. They are just a money laundering scheme for the Democrats.
