Prominent business man, Richard Parsons, was attacked Thursday night while walking to his office near Cato Oil. He was almost killed. No robbery occurred. He was hospitalized at PRMC and now is in Health South.

Yes he is a businessman, but also a down to earth average dude like the rest of us. Someone states he is no saint, what the hell is meant by that. I could be wrong but think he was thrashed because he is white, in age and a friend to most. This was done because the turds are cowards in packs. Saint or other is no reason a man has to watch his back while working. And Richard was probably doing just that at that time of night or any other time. Being at night on Thurday he may have returned from Felton buying vehicles at Delaware Auto Exchange. Unless they repealed the 3 strikes your out law for felonies, we already have that. 3 felonies and you get life. Also, the punishment has to fit the crime. We already have deterrents but most don't serve their whole sentence. Some get out early, commit new crimes and go back to prison and get out early again. Vicious cycle.
No law means much if there is no real punishment. And if people were allowed to protect themselves like they should, some criminals wouldn't be alive to commit new crimes and we wouldn't need new laws. Nowadays, victims have to worry about being convicted if they didn't follow the letter of some law they probably are not even aware of.
Somebody attacks you or breaks into your house, shoot to kill. One less criminal to deal with in the future. Now THAT would be a deterrent.
